Arte Chef - Richmond Upon Thames

The pizza at this restaurant is consistently delicious. The food is exceptionally good and they have a great variety of excellent wines. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back again. Thank you to all!

It was my first time back at Arte Chef since September I thought it was great when I went, but with its parent restaurant Masaniello just a walk from home, it’s seemed so much easier to go there than taking a drive to Barnes. But chef Livio Te’s Twickenham restaurant has become such a family favourite and we love his pizzas so much, Jonathan has been keen to try the Barnes ‘branch’ and so booked a table there for the family to celebrate Mother’s Day today.

We initially thought we had discovered a new spot to frequent, for visits to the nearby movie theater studio and for friends who had recently moved to Barnes. However, we will not be returning, nor will we be recommending it to anyone we know. It seemed more like an osteria than a trattoria, despite the prices suggesting otherwise. We were hungry and had an hour or two before the movie, so we ordered black linguine with shrimp, which didn't look very appealing in the display case but tasted excellent. My partner had a delicious lasagna, and we shared a small salad. The owner/manager recommended a great red wine, which we enjoyed. However, our experience turned sour when we encountered the most rude waitress we've ever experienced. We had to ask her for the check as she barely acknowledged us. Shockingly, as we were leaving, we realized that we had been charged for the salad again. We returned to confront the waitress, who became increasingly hostile before her manager intervened and rectified the error. We thanked him and left, but the waitress continued to glare at us through the glass window. I approached her to inquire about her behavior, which only escalated her aggression. I informed the manager that the situation had been resolved, but that no customer deserved to be treated in such a manner. The waitress and manager began to berate us, questioning why we were speaking to him instead of her. We tried not to let the incident ruin our evening, but we hope that the waitress does not have the opportunity to mistreat another customer. If you plan to visit, it may be wise to inquire about the staff working that day. Surely, the owners are aware of the situation.

The best! everything is absolutely amazing: eat so well they don’t want it to end, the manager smiles and make sure everything is in order! what a jewel!

We are masters. ordered a delivery for arrived cold. really cold. cooler cold. rang the restaurant and the answer was for the point of the unrighteous rude. I'm sorry about the delivery. her problem not the restaurant. well, it's our problem as eating went into. the am and it is also Arte-Köche’ problem, as the delivery people they use. do not use these rude people. we will not be back.
