Absolutely amazing! This restaurant is a hidden gem for one of the best dining experiences I've ever had in this city. From start to finish, I was blown away. Even the dessert was to die for. The only downside was a mediocre dish that lacked that wow factor - just a sweet with too much sauce. However, the cannoli with chicken liver or pasta was outstanding. I also appreciate that they accommodated my dietary restrict... View all feedback.
I would give this place 10 stars if possible. amazing service, great ambiente, very tasty and innovative dishes (all dishes we had really good), and clean hotel-like washrooms. definitiw one of the best restaurants in ontario.
Phenomenal experience. Creative menu finds the right balance between taste and presentation. Service is sophisticated and appropriately attentive. Well worth the price.
We had such an amazing experience at Frilu. Our waiter Daniel was excellent incredibly friendly and personable. The tasting menu gave us so many new gastronomic experiences. Each dish was visually a work of art, with lots of their ingredients sourced from their own farm which made it all the more special. We had the opportunity to try a variety of flavor combinations that we'd never had before. The experience helped us appreciate the hefty task that comes with creating a good tasting menu. At Frilu, not only did they have to create 10 unique dishes that work well together, but they had to do so on a budget (with the meal being an absolute bargain at $140 per person) all while maintaining a high calibre of food. Truly one of our absolute favorite dining experiences. We will be coming back again!
Mostly tasty and very personal experience! My partner and I ordered the tasting menu and the food was diverse and unique! We enjoyed all (ESPECIALLY the beef tongue omg), but the pickled dish (pic yellow with small orange flowers) which had a bizarre flavour to my taste buds. We also had a sparkling sake which was DELICIOUS! Our waiter was quite the character and it added to the experience. The chefs serve the food themselves and share about the dish, which was a very personal touch. One point of feedback is the ambiance. For a $300+ dinner for two, I’d look for just a touch more pizzaz. The music was a little too low and it was easy to hear the conversation of neighbouring tables. The sound also echoed often in the hard walls, given there was little soft furniture to absorb the sound. Also note the dinner took 3.5hrs in total not a con, but just to set expectations. Overall, I’d recommend a visit to gauge the tastebuds. This experience taught me I prefer tasting menus over omakase.
Excellent service and experience. I understand rising costs of food however the prices just keep going up. Also they’re not even located in downtown, which would justify the prices. Quite salty dishes towards the middle. Ingredients are unique, high quality, and delightful.
