Virago Spirits - Richmond

The owner gave us a tour, and the drinks and overall experience were incredible. I highly recommend this place! The owner is a graduate of William and Mary and is very particular about the way they craft their alcohol. The merchandise and drinks exceeded my expectations. Every drink I tried was perfect. I learned so much about their production process and the history behind it; it truly was one of the best experiences of my life!

Follow your GPS and push open the unassuming door beneath the straightforward sign, and you'll find that Virago offers a refreshingly unique tasting experience. Situated in an overlooked industrial area, it's conveniently located near other popular food and drink spots in Richmond, just across the tracks—both literally and metaphorically. While whiskey distilleries seem to be everywhere these days, Virago specializes in crafting rums and gins, boasting an impressive selection for such a small-scale operation. The bartender was well-versed in the offerings, and we had a lengthy conversation with one of the founders. Whether you're a cocktail lover or a spirits enthusiast, be sure to treat yourself to a visit to Virago.

Virago served me one of the best Piña Coladas I've ever had in the city. The combination of white rum and nutmeg was simply perfect. Absolutely delicious!

Love the ambiance of the place! Kinda reminds me of a coffee shop. Small, quiet and cozy. You would never know from the outside. The drinks are also out of this world and the staff are all super nice. Honestly, best pina colada I’ve ever had!

Had a nice time with the bartenders rain and berry (code names) it’s a small place but very cozy and I enjoyed the different types of drinks this is a great spot for small groups who want to sip drinks and play games
