Still the best pho for my tastebuds. The meat portions have gotten more generous since the name change (to Pho House of Noodle). Use the bathroom before leaving home, though!! View all feedback.
What Braden Funk doesn't like about Pho 79:
Too many other good Vietnamese choices in Richmond. I have been driving by Pho 79 for years and finally stopped in for lunch today. The building looks like an old rundown Captain D's and the inside lacks any real ambiance.I was not really impressed with the menu, as pho was just about the extent of the selection, but I guess one should have figured that out by the restaurant's name. The pho was ok, but there are so m... View all feedback.
We used to come to Pho when children were younger, they haven't been here for many years. Now my daughter would come here to have BBQ Pork alone over Broken Rice. I stopped while I was in the area to get some Vietnamese sandwiches for lunch the next day. As soon as I came in, the aroma of Vietnamese cuisine makes me a desire for a large bowl of Pho. If I didn't have dinner at home, I would sit down and order everything on the menu. I can't comment on her Pho as I didn't have it long, but the BBQ Pork Sandwich, BBQ Beef Sandwiches, BBQ Chicken Sandwich and the Fresh Spring Rolls were super delicious! Please note that the location and interior do not invite. The dining room didn't feel clean.
They say the best Pho places are usually holes in the wall this is definitely true with Pho House formal Pho 79. They do a great job to keep the restaurant clean, each table had hand-sanitary. Overall, the service was great and the Pho was delectable. My only complaint is the portion size. I really love good Pho and appreciate the possibility to order a larger bowl when it is offered. I would recommend it very much.
If you are hungry and are driving past this place, give it a try. I'm glad I did. It has a hole in the wall feel on the outside but inside the restaurant is warm and very inviting. The food is reasonably priced as well as delicious. When you come in you seat yourself. The waiters are friendly and provide fast service. The fresh spring rolls are well made and are well filled and have chicken inside. I got the number 9 and they do not skip on their noodles. Was very full at the end of eating.
Absolutely delicious! Most authentic Vietnamese place I’ve found in richmond. Cant wait to come back for more (next time: Banh Mi or Hu Tieu
Don't let the outside fool you! We ordered the spring rolls, egg rolls, #7 pho with beef and the chicken pho. All the bowls were great, it's definitely a more traditional pho experience. Service was quick, unobtrusive and perfectly adequate. The bowls seemed priced at about the average cost one expects to pay, not the least expensive nor the most. Definitely above average Pho! We all had varying degrees of doneness, we were too excited to eat to get a before pic!!!
