Capital Ale House - Richmond

I ordered takeout here. Capital Ale House gets points for fast service and large portions. The restaurant felt very clean and busy when I picked up mid-week. While out of an item, the restaurant made a quick substitution when I arrived. We had the wings with Mexicali seasoning and ranch, salad with strawberry; brie; candied walnuts, and macaroni and cheese. The wings were very good, but may friend found them fattier. The Mac n cheese was nice and creamy with beautiful cavatappi noodles but seemed to lack the sharpness of cheese flavor. The salad had strawberries with the look and texture of being cut several hours earlier and there was no dressing. It’s great that the restaurant is open late for Richmond unlike a lot of places. It’s okay overall.

I hate leaving bad reviews but 2022 has been nothing but horrible restaurant experiences, hopefully management will start taking this stuff seriously and fixing problems to ensure customer satisfaction. My Togo order was texted ready, after a 20 minute wait at the bar for my presumed ready food, our simple order including a salad and sandwich were awful. My sandwich was cold, bread was soggy, the fries were undercooked, my Caesar salad had egg on top?!? I would much rather spend my money at local businesses but if this is the quality for a $70 dollar meal, I can’t recommend.

Sweet place! Very popular bar. Food was amazing that we had loaded Pommes and the Cajun Pasta. Very recommended. Come back. Drinks are also strong

Loved the mood and decoration. Pretty loud and disgusting. But it was a Sunday night. I have the pretzel for a starter. It came with sweet mustard. I don't care about mustard, so I added beer cheese. It was phenomenal. I have the Mac n cheese for my main course. You make it with beer cheese. It was delicious. Good date night job, or somewhere to go with friends. Some people brought kids, even late at night, so that's an option. Prices were between 8 and 20 dollars, depending on the drink, or food you choose. Will go again :

This place really surprised me. I expected “bar food” but they gave me old fashion meets unique cook in a chill bar on a Saturday night feeling when making sense. Our waitress was quite dope and very knowledgeable in the menu (because I always have a question and their drink recommendation was PERFECT!!! We had the Peach Margarita. Delicious. Only enough “oo weee” and peaches. Great atmosphere. Am I back?
