Benny Ventano's - Richmond

The pizza here is crafted with care, and the staff is incredibly friendly. I witnessed a woman trying to juggle a pizza and her baby, and one of the employees kindly helped her by carrying the pizza! Their soda selection is fantastic as well; they even had my favorite! The pizza is delicious, and I can never resist a large pie. I would rate this place 11/10 and can’t wait to return!

I really dislike giving a negative review, especially since the pizza itself was tasty. However, we encountered a major issue with hair. During our meal, my girlfriend and I discovered five hairs in our pizza while eating just two slices, and they appeared to come from different people and different parts of the body. The hairs were actually baked into the cheese and dough. Normally, we're not overly sensitive about these things, but this was an unacceptable amount. It's hard to enjoy a pizza when you're constantly searching for hair. Ultimately, we ended up wasting $40 because we couldn't bring ourselves to eat the remaining six slices. Perhaps our experience was an isolated incident, but it completely ruined our meal.

I was genuinely surprised to see negative reviews for this restaurant, but then I realized where I was. I'm from New Jersey, and this place really reminds me of home. I've been on the hunt for some genuinely good pizza out here, but most recommendations have been somewhat lacking in that department. As a tri-state local, this has been the best experience I've had so far. The thin crust reminded me of the boardwalk pizza from my childhood, and the cheese was definitely a nice blend of mozzarella and either white Vermont or Parmigiano. While the sauce was a bit on the lighter side, the flavor was still really enjoyable. If you love Mac and Manco’s from Ocean City and the Jersey Shore, this place is definitely worth a visit; it will make you feel right at home.

The cheese had an odd cheddar like funk to it that distracted from the flavor of the sauce and crust. Not terrible, but not enjoyable if you're expecting a more neutral flavored cheese and want to actually taste the other elements of the pizza.

I recently visited Benny Ventano's with a friend, primarily attracted by their well reviewed pizza. The food did live up to our expectations each slice was flavorful, the crust was perfectly cooked, and the toppings were generous and fresh.However, our experience was marred by the poor customer service. The individual at the counter seemed noticeably unenthusiastic and slightly irritated, even when asked basic questions or for standard service. It seemed as if the basic tenets of customer service were being overlooked.The restaurant operates a self seating system, which generally isn't a problem. However, on this particular visit, the tables were not cleaned or sanitized before or after we sat down, which was something we noticed was the case for other guests as well.Furthermore, the restrooms were in an unacceptable state. Both were permeated with a strong odor of urine, and they had not been cleaned in what appeared to be quite some time. The toilet and the floor were visibly dirty. A trashcan in the corner was overflowing with paper towels and other trash, which only added to the overall unpleasantness of the situation.While the quality of the pizza at Benny Ventano's is undeniable, the lacking customer service and poor hygiene standards seriously detracted from our experience. I hope the management takes note and addresses these issues promptly, as the food itself is certainly worth ordering to go only.
