Baja Bean - Richmond

Large small Mexican place, relatively quiet in the afternoon and lunch, and a big party place on weekends. The cooking staff, the servers and the barkeepers are all polite, while not cardboard cutouts. Apparently a French restaurant, but I think it works better than a Mexican house. Also here are many events, stand-up comedy, karaoke, funny times.

My husband and I have been here for years. The drinks are cheap. When we order food, it fills us (especially the ultimate nachos). The outdoor area is very relaxing in summer and the bartenders have always made us welcome.

Nice place. Lots of space and 3 pool tables. Definitely the selling point. Not pretentious like some other bars in Richmond that have much less to offer. You don't go here for the food but it's certainly not bad .

My girlfriend was craving flan and she saw that they had some on an online menu. We didn't manage to get to the restaurant until around 9pm, so the restaurant side was closed but we did still get an order of food. It was decent. The place had more of a college bar feel as opposed to that of a Mexican restaurant. It'd be a nice place to go have some drinks with friends but not for a dinner. That being said, this is just my opinion and it could be an entirely different place during the day.

I celebrated my sister's birthday and it was great. The staff was friendly Logan was our bartender and he was the best! Our Magaritas were good; we got little Fajitas, but that was a lot on our plate. They do not even charge extra for the shrimps in the Fajitas and there were many shrimps. Our bill was less than $40 for 2 fajitas meals, and 4 magaritas. AWESOME! My sister and I left to go to Bar Hop, but at the end of an hour to come back because we enjoyed so much. We played pool and had more Magaritas until they closed. I love this place and I can't wait until it's warm enough to sit in their terrace.
