We grabbed an early dinner here after getting off our flight from the east coast and checking into our hotel at River Rock. I remembered this place from my days growing up in Richmond. Still good food but they haven't really done any improvements or updating to the décor. We had the Beef Lettuce Wrap, Pineapple Fried Rice, Pork Spring Roll and the Sugarcane Shrimp and Shrimp Cakes. Very tasty. Our server was friendly and attentive. With 2 non-alcoholic drinks, our bill was $49CDN before gratuity. Ample free parking though we walked from the Skytrain station. It's across from Lansdown Shopping center off Alderbridge Rd.
Good Thai restaurant, excellent food and friendly service. Prices for most items are around ~$15 and a couple of bucks for rice and you've got a meal. They're great at getting the heat level the way you request it. Medium Hot puts just the right heat level in the food without having you sweating!!
Ever since I migrated to Canada and lived in Richmond for over 20 years, it is my first experience with this restaurant though my car passed by thousand times. The front door is located at the back of the mall not to be seen from driving along No. 3 Road. Decoration and seating are good with reserved many parking spaces right outside restaurant. Food is just above average. The pineapple fry rice is a bit moist as commented by others. Pad thai can be improved by adding slightly more peanuts and eggs. The satay strips are good but can be improved. Curry is so so. The spinach is quite salty. Fried shrimp cakes are also so so. Pricewise, mid range though services are good. Very limited choices on dessert with most of them - ice cream.
First time I eat in the Richmond Thai House. Food was slight above average but expensive. This place has good deep fried food, we ordered the spring rolls. Curry was expensive but very average taste. The pineapple fried rice was the worst i have ever had, more like ketchup fried rice, and too moist, from the pineapple. The peanuts they put in the fried rice were stale, not edible. Very diasppointed. Service was very good, no complaint. But I would not go back due to how expensive and how poorly prepared the pineapple fried rice (a common Thai dish) was.
Love this restaurant. The food is always good, the service is fast, and you know you are always getting a tasty dish. Just check out the wall with all the awards, good value for your money and multiple locations for convenience. Had the dinner for two but exchanged dessert for sticky rice and mango for a little up charge! Yum.
