this is a cheerful enviroment in the mall with excellent high end but moderatly priced Japanese foods. The fish is great. We had butter ebi which was really nice and the lamb chops which were done a little different than we are used to but also very nice. View all feedback.

I don't usually feel compelled to write reviews for restaurants, good or bad, but my experience with this place today was almost unbelievable and I thought the rest of the community might like to know.At lunch my partner and I sat down for all you can eat. A friend was meeting us about an hour later so we asked for a table for 3. The two of us finished our meals and we're considering leaving to meet our friend (who was only meeting us for drinks) but we figured we were already there so we'd stay. Our friend arrived, asked for a wine menu (had to ask a few people as nobody speaks English), and ordered a glass of wine. I also ordered a glass of wine. We talked a bit and ordered one more glass each and went to pay our bill. We noticed our bill had 4 glasses of wine and three ayce meals - no big deal, mistakes happen right? - WRONG! When we explained to the manager we had only ordered and eaten 2 meals, and had finished long before the third person arrived he was extremely rude to us. He DEMANDED that we pay for all three meals as it was "all you can eat" policy (according to him the policy of every ayce place that all customers should know by default). This "policy" was not written anywhere on their menus or anywhere in the restaurant nor did any of the staff mention it but according to them we were expected to know we would be charged for food we never received. We were not concerned with the 11.00 but the principal at this point and all 3 of us were being threatened despite trying to pay the bill (minus the extra meal). I asked him "if you go to a store and look at something without purchasing it do they charge you?" he replied angrily "this is ALL YOU CAN EAT POLICY!!" and threatened to call the cops. I told him we would gladly wait for the police as none of us were paying for a meal we never ordered or ate. My friend, who is (or should I say, was) a regular at this place asked him "don't you care that you're losing a repeat customer?" and, unbelievably he screamed "NO!". I told him I was going to write a review and he told me to go right ahead. Since we had been arguing with him for a good 10 minutes and we were all frustrated I slammed my debit card down on the counter and it ended up flying behind him. This is where it gets even crazier - if that's possible. He flat out REFUSED to give my card back for me to pay. I asked him several times and he proceeded to stare me down without saying a word. I honestly think he mistook it for a credit card and was going to try to run it through. I went to walk out and he tried to block me. Just to recap: He now has my bank card which I've been trying to pay with for ten minutes, he is refusing to give it to me, refusing to run it through and refusing to let me leave - what kind of establishment allows this type of behavior? After walking away, and then coming back to my friends who were still arguing with him they FINALLY decided to give my card back and let me pay my bill. They rang in the correct total only after arguing for over 20 minutes in front of the other customers. As I was leaving I asked for his name but he refused and also told his co-worker, in Chinese, not to give it to us. I don't blame him for not wanting us to know his name since he was illegally overcharging us, illegally withholding my bank card (my business banking information) and illegally refusing to let any of us leave. I am somewhat sorry the police didn't come. What a joke! Do not bother with this place. In the managers own words they don't give a **** about their reputation or their customers. What a disgrace.
My sister was down here visiting me from Kelowna as she had just lost her daughter to a terrible accident recently and needed to get away. I thought I would take her to a nice Japanese restaurant. My sister and I went to this restaurant and were very disappointed. The service was terrible and the server was rude. We were given one all you can eat menu between the two of us. We asked for a regular menu and again the server brought us one and took off. I asked for a fork and before I could ask if my sister could have one the server took off again. When my sisters order arrived she didn't realize that the dinner box she ordered contained uncooked salmon instead of the California rolls like mine. When she finally got a server to come. The server said she would get the manager. The manager came and said that my sister could order a side order of Califonia rolls. But that she would have to pay for them. What lousy service, what are a few california rolls to please the customer. We arrived there in a good mood and left very unhappy. We won't be back
My family and I visited this restaurant for dinner last week, and it was our first time dining there. It wasn't too crowded, and we received prompt and courteous service.
I'm not sure what happened, but when I returned to this restaurant after six months, the food was disappointingly average.
