Got recommended to try another not expensive Taiwanese restaurant which is also close to Sheraton/Hilton/Marriott hotels around 10 minutes walk. The owner and his wife are all from Taiwan and the special beef noodle soup is a superb! What User doesn't like about Newton Beef Noodle House:
I was leaving the Richmond Public Market and fell upon the Newton Beef Noodle House so I peeked into the window (as is my practice before patronizing a new restaurant). The premises looked inviting so I decided on lunch. The beef and tendon noodle soup exceeded my expectations, yes of course I'll return. View all feedback.
Video review on youtube: vancity food crew newton beef noodle house . Some of my foodie friends are split on this place, but I wanted to try it out for myself. The food was fine. I had the beef noodle soup, which comes with plenty of tender chunks of beef, good portion size. The order of popcorn chicken was pretty big as well for a decent price. The food was solid and I would go back to try other stuff and bubble tea.
This is the best place to sample Taiwanese beef noodle soup. I recommend A6, spicy broth with large pieces of beef and tendons. Their xio lung pau aka Shanghai pork dumplings are worth a try as well.
After Zephyr closed down, there was not a noodle house in town that could fill the void in my soul (and my stomach). Until Newton opened up. From their slow braised beef noodle soup, to their popcorn chicken, marinated eggs, and marinated intestines, I have yet to try something there that I did not like. My faith has been restored.
It fame with the richness of the stock that is slow-cooked to perfection. The tenderness of meat and thick noodles added to this perfect comfort food for any asian's tummy during cold nights, not to forget that their Taiwanese fried chicken can be seen across many tables too.

Its soup is cooked with some herbs and plenty of vegetables, the noodles are handmade and you can choose your own type of noodles! I got 4 big chunky beef in my bowl and they are all tasty and tender! They also have many kinds of beef noodle soups and few Taiwanese traditional rice dishes to choose such as pork chop rice, popcorn chicken rice and braised mince pork rice! I also ordered side dishes like Taiwanese popcorn chicken, steam dumplings and Taiwanese bubble tea, they are all really good with reasonable prices!
