Contribute FeedbackThis McDonald's location in Richmond is a historic site as the first one outside the USA, established in 1967. Despite some service issues, such as long wait times and cleanliness concerns, the staff are friendly and the food is typical McDonald's fare. The renovated premises are spacious and inviting, with plans for preserving historical elements. While some customers experience delays and unsatisfactory service, others appreciate the quick service and fresh food. Overall, this location holds significance as a piece of Canadian McDonald's history and attracts both loyal customers and casual diners.
Food is typical McDonald's foodThere's parking at back of restaurant but usually full during peak hours.
Poor customer service _Always takes FOREVER to order food and the food order is always messed up _Ordered a sausage and egg mcmuffin before but it was burnt

This particular branch is located near the Southeast corner of Number 3 Rd. and Granville Avenue. This was the first McDonald’s to open in Canada in 1967 and had just reopened within the last couple of days after a major renovation coinciding with its 50th anniversary. We arrived in the midst of the Thursday lunch hour 12:30 and there 1 parking spot left. With its new configuration, there are now 2 drive thru terminals. Parking will be an issue during peak hours. The new renovations include a smaller indoor playground. Previously, it had a bigger larger outdoor play area with seating.Inside there would appear to be less seating. In addition, there are now only 2 cashier terminals with 4 self-serve terminals. Before the renovation there were probably 5–6 cashiers and no self-serve terminals. The service was as good. The new wrinkle in the McDonald’s that have self-serve terminals is the greeter. In this restaurant a young lady offered help with the self-serve terminals and also offered to bring our order to our table. As for the food, we ordered the grilled chicken sandwich, bacon cheddar cheese Angus burger, fries and a soft drink. The food taste-wise is no different than any other McDonald’s.No surprises here, your basic restaurant with a slightly above average specialty burger, good fries and above average service that gets a 3+ out of 5 rating.Notes and Tips:• Free wifi• There is very limited outdoor seating – 3 tables each with 4 seats each. There are also 4 benches.• This location is open 24-7 including the dining room• My major complaint is that the McDonald’s app was not loading on my iPhone and as a consequence I could not download the McDonald’s app offers (and this was using my own cellular service and not the free wifi). Eventually, the offers did show up but after I had paid for my meal. This issue has also happened at other branches but having said that the success rate to download offers appears to be better if you are using your own cellular service. I don’t know if the issue is related to my iPhone 4S or the app itself.• Download the restaurant app for weekly discounted offers in addition to their major seasonal promotions received in your mailbox
