In the heart of Richmond, BC you will find many excellent Asian restaurant concentrated within a few city blocks. We entered this rather underwhelming restaurant very much similar to the many others in the area. We were very impressed by the quality of food...price....and variety. Try the "sooo good pork" (that's the name of the dish!), fried donuts, sweet and sour wontons, Cantonese fried chicken, beef and brocilli.... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Double Double Restaurant:
we were shopping at Empire Market and decided to have supper at the Double Double Restaurant just a few store fronts away. We ordered prawns with vermicelli hot pot, sweet and sour pork, beef brisket & beef tendon and white rice. At no time did the server refill our Chinese tea even though she was requested to do so more than once. When it came time to pay our tab we were obliged to attend the cashier to request a bi... The yel lay so (fried donut) is amazing. It's hard to find these treats at many places nowadays. The congee also impressed me, I would rate it an 8 out of 10.
The food is excellent, I mean the service lol I don’t expect service in a honger restaurant. If the middle age ladies don’t yell at you, I consider as good service. Fried two and fried one both good. The fried rice noodle 河粉 one of best in vancouver. Fried Daikon cake yummy, it’s crispy yet you can still taste the freshness and sweetness of daikon. Long customer here, if u r new ignore the service and decor you should be fine.
Has great amount of options. Amazing congee, fresh materials. All food was authentic and the taste did not disappoint. Only takes cash or debit for $25+ orders.Parking: Might be hard to find immediate parking at dinner time, but there’re second floor parking
Visited Double Double due to a recommendation from a friend and it certainly did not disappoint. Our table was quickly seated within a few minutes and the vibes gave your typical bustling Chinese restaurant. The staff definitely reciprocated better when communicated to in Cantonese or Mandarin instead of English. There was a wide variety of Congee, what I mainly came for. I ordered the Preserved Egg Salted Pork Congee as well as a Salted Chinese Doughnut. The congee was wonderfully silky and contained a good ratio of toppings to congee. This congee was some of the best that I've had in North America and was super reminiscent of a piping hot bowl of congee from Hong Kong. The Chinese doughnut was pretty big and was shared amongst four people. It was airy, nicely fluffy, and paired perfectly with the congee!
A nice little Chinese restaurant for congee and noodles. We liked the food. It's pretty standard for Chinese dishes. We were starving and ordered three dishes and a Chinese donut which seemed overpriced. The bill came to $45 before tip.The service was below average. I ran out of tea and couldn't flag someone down to re-fill.The mall parking can be quite chaotic and the spots are quite small but at least there's no charge for parking
