Adorabelle - Richmond

My opinion of Adorabelle has changed since the many visits I have made over the years. I recently went there and price had increased ($30 for adult, $24 for senior) and Iearned there is a new owner. My tea was served without the clotted cream and strawberry preserves (without them, it is not a high tea); the cupcakes, both sweet and otherwise, tasted as if they had not been made on the premises. I advised, by e-mail, that the cream and preserves were not served. A week later, I am still awaiting an apology. My last visit there. It happens so often with new owners, too bad.

We had an awesome experience here for afternoon high tea. The owner and staff were lovely and accommodated our vegan diets to perfection! Definitely will recommend to friends and will come again.

We went with the family to treat mom for Pre-Mothers Day celebration, and mom was happy. Nice decor and concept. Very girly and CUTE. I liked how attentive the server was. To take this place to the next level, quality of tea can be improved and quality of pastries can be improved. The sweet pastries can be less sweet. Tip: check if Steveston has an event the day you are there. We could barely find parking because we ran into a Japanese tall ship festival. Other days should be fine since there's lots of street parking and there's a parking lot in the back (paid parking) as well. They said that the "hotel only" spots are fine to park at but make sure you pay at the meter.

Over my several visits to Adorabelle for their afternoon tea, I have received consistent excellent service from the servers. Their lunch fares are not outstanding but decent, but my favorite will always be their scones with clotted cream and jam. I typically order the cream tea "deconstructed tier", which consists of a loose leaf pot + 2 scones. My go-to tea is always the cream of earl grey which is excellent, so I cannot recommend any other teas. I've only been on weekdays late afternoon and it's typically not busy, but I would recommend a reservation as it is a small place and it could get filled up quickly. There's also a gift shop attached, in case you wanted to pick up anything cute for home decor!

I brought my friend here to celebrate her birthday with afternoon tea (we're in our 60's!). The shop is beautifully but simply decorated and the ambiance is subdued. The tea was personally presented along with a three tiered stand with a delicious assortment of both savoury and sweet treats. Everything was perfect! What a great way to spend an afternoon.
