The interior of Junbi is simple yet visually appealing. The self-service kiosks are a nice touch for someone introverted like me. I ordered the matcha with milk, regular ice, and sugar. I think it would taste even better with a bit more sugar. The flavor is just as expected—matcha! If you're a fan of matcha, I believe you'll enjoy this place. I had some trouble poking a hole in my stubborn drink container because it was rather bent. They also offer onigiri, but I chose not to get any since they were made with furikake.
Here’s what we tried: 1. **Blueberry Matcha ($5.25)**: This was probably the standout drink for me. 2. **Yuzu Dragonfruit Matcha ($6)**: Not a favorite; I would skip this one. 3. **Strawberry Matcha ($5.25)**: I prefer the version from Boba Guys. 4. **Aloe Matcha ($4.75)**: Another one I wouldn’t recommend. 5. **Mango Matcha ($5.25)**: Just okay for me. We also wanted to try the ceremonial-grade matcha, but it felt a bit greedy to order such a large cup of it and not have thought to do the same for the other drinks (oops!). Overall, the drinks were definitely on the lighter side, which is nice if you’re looking for something refreshing instead of rich and heavy. However, I think the place was a bit crowded during my visit, which may have affected my enjoyment. Next time, I might just opt for a more traditional matcha drink.
I could easily spend all my money here! The matcha is of excellent quality, and so far, my favorite drink is the Madagascan vanilla. I appreciate that they offer alternative options like soy milk or oat milk instead of regular milk. The icing balls are also great for snacking. The food comes out quickly, and the service is consistently attentive and friendly.
If they are a matcha lover, I would recommend going to junbi, double if they are a UTD student, as it is also quite close to the campus. Overall I would rate this place 8s/10, they have great boba options and some delicious onigiri as well. Unfortunately, this place has no flawless study vibes, so they don't plan to come here to do something work. unfortunately they were from furikake for the onigiri when I got them, so I have to give him a 7/10. there was a need for seasonal/salt. Otherwise, the salmon filling was pretty good, you can't really screw up a reisball. I also had the gray-eared militia to do for most boba places. 8/10 would recommend.
Junbi for the win!!! I came into Junbi with a friend the other day and tried their grapefruit matcha (I asked if they could sub green tea for the matcha, which they were kind enough to accommodate); my friend had a strawberry matcha that was half sweet! They also offered us a taster of a new ice cream on the menu (I can't remember the name of it, but it tasted kind of like rice cakes). We both thought that the drinks were light, refreshing, and with unique flavor profiles. While my drink was slightly more sweet than I prefer (I will be sure to ask for half sweet next time), as I watched the staff making the drinks, I could tell that they really put a lot of care/ attention to detail into the drinks, in addition to their 5 star customer service. Lastly, the environment was very serene! My friend and I found a spot close to the bar to sit at that had a tree/ outdoor/ nature theme; the chairs were comfy and, with only light chatter of other customers in the background, we were able to enjoy our drinks while chatting with ease. If you're in Richardson/ North Dallas, Junbi is a *must try*!!!
