First time experience. Our server was very nice and helpful with suggesting choices. The food was delicious and fresh. Orange chicken was the best as were their dumplings. Noice level was a bit high but experience was totally worth it. Will go back for sure! View all feedback.
What Julia Weiß doesn't like about Jeng Chi:
We had a reservation and were seated right away. The problem was that no one came to our table. Ever. We sat for twenty minutes. I went to the bar to get two glasses of water. Another ten minutes went by, we got up and left. They had a special tasting event going on, so unusually busy. But there were people seated after us that were served. View all feedback.
Amazing food and great service as per usual! Thanks Kai for being a nice waiter. (Pro tip get the small juicy dumplings, they’re unmatched)
I have been coming here for years. We love the food and the service is always great, until today. I always order my favorite dish and I do not care the sauce that it comes with so I simply ask for the sauce I like. This has never been an issue in the past, until this weekend, when I was told I cannot change the sauce on a dish. I understand the intent of this policy, so that you are not getting major custom orders for various dishes. However in this case, you have to make the sauce for each dish every time you make it, so what is the difference in changing the sauce. I asked the manager to come over and discuss but they would not budge. They pointed me to virtually the same dish with the sauce that I wanted, but it cost $4 more and had tofu (which I did not want). I felt like I was being taken advantage of, especially, since I have been making this same request for years without any issues. Needless to say, I was very disappointed and will have to consider if we will return or take our business elsewhere. Other than that, the food is top notch.
One of my most favorite restaurants in DFW. Phenomenal food!! Top 3 Asian restaurants in my books. Soupy dumplings are incredible. Servers are very helpful to decipher the menu if you need any recommendations. Sparkling clean facility with a very welcoming host. They have a small bar and a bakery as well you can stop by on your way in or out. We are regulars now. Be aware that they can be very busy around lunch time (business days). I really like this place and have been going there for years. As much as I enjoy Chinese cuisine, I am not a fan of dark meat chicken. Several years ago a server suggested that I subsitute pork for the dark meat chicken in the Kung Pao chicken. It was delicious and I 've ordered that way since. Today, the server said she didn 't have a prompt for pork on Kung Pao chicken on her hand held device. Instead she had white meat chicken, shrimp, beef etc. I suggested she just tell the kitchen about the request, since they 'd done it some many times before. Instead a woman whom I assume was the manager (or owner) came to me and told me told me they would not make the change, and in fact they make their dishes authentic and the version I wanted wasn 't authentic. She acknowledged they 'd made the dish that way in the past but wouldn 't do it anymore. She then picked up the menu and told me she would help me pick out something else. I was surprised at first and felt like I was being treated like a child. then got angry and decided to walk away. I am not sure if it was computer issue or if I somehow got on the bad side of the manager. Definitely felt I was chastised for ordering something they actually recommended to me. Doubtful that I will go back.
Hands down one of the best restaurants in DFW! Come for the dumplings, stay for the Mongolian beef and cashew chicken.
