Glory Chinese - Richardson
Glory Chinese
Description
This neighborhood Chinese eatery is a longtime favorite for many, praised for fresh, savory flavors, generous portions and wallet-friendly prices, especially via drive‑thru and takeout. Patrons cite warm, family-run service and quick pick‑up, but experiences are mixed: delivery can be slow and misleadingly billed, some items arrive undercooked or rubbery, and language and order accuracy issues occur. Despite occasional quality and communication lapses — and an unsettling flyer incident — it remains worth trying for affordable, hearty Chinese comfort food.

The food lacked flavor and had a rubbery texture. Even the steamed rice was bland. Overall, it was quite disappointing. To make matters worse, the delivery took a long time.
I ordered a frozen egg roll that was hot on the outside but still frozen on the inside. When I called to address the issue, I received the same response: "Come back and we'll cook you another one." I just wish they had a thermometer to check the temperature. Aside from that, the food was good!
The food was okay, and the portion sizes were decent. However, the "free" delivery isn't truly free since the prices for phone orders are $5-6 higher than those on the menu. Additionally, the delivery took about an hour and twenty minutes for a location that's only five minutes away. If I could step away from my job, I would have gone to pick it up myself.
I recently discovered that this restaurant distributed flyers on every door in my apartment building during the night. Since you need a fob or code to enter the building, it’s quite unsettling that they managed to get inside to deliver the flyers. Even if it was done by a resident, it still feels pretty creepy. Therefore, I won’t be considering any purchases from them in the future.
