What Alex Blanchard doesn't like about A l'Alsacienne:
Popped in for a coffee and cake and this place seemed quite sweet, quiet and the cakes looked tasty. But somehow it just didn't work. The atmosphere was non-existent some background music would have lifted the sense of gloom that for some reason pervades....Perhaps the bare lightbulbs didn't help? I don't know. Anyway. The cakes were fine. Nothing special, but perfectly tasty and reasonable. So why the poor'? Well th... View all feedback.
As we were walking in the streets of ribeauville my husband and I didn't find any of the restaurants attractive. They all seemed touristy with long menus. At the end of our walk we found this lovely small restaurant with only 3 seats outside and the menu on a black board with only 3 options. That was perfect! We had the veal with vegetables and thinly sliced potatoes that came with a salad and desert for only 12 euros! What a bargain. The chef/host/waiter didn't speak any English but was very welcoming and accommodating. He brought us the salad and went back to the kitchen to prepare the rest of our food. Such a cozy intimate experience. The food was very good and satisfying. We are happy we found this place for a more unique rather than commercial experience.
