Feedback
We decided to sit at the bar, where the bartenders were friendly, if not entirely well-versed in wine presentation and serving techniques (to be fair, they probably serve more by the glass than by the bottle). To start, we shared an appetizer of potato gnocchi with wild mushrooms. The gnocchi were light and perfectly cooked, while the white wine and wild mushroom sauce was seasoned just right. The dollop of ricotta on top was the perfect finishing touch. I considered trying the octopus, but $24 for an appetizer that my wife wouldn’t eat felt a bit excessive; we’ll definitely try it when we come back with our daughters. For the main course, my wife ordered the grilled salmon, which was accompanied by shrimp fried rice. Each dish could stand alone as a meal, and their combination was excellent. I opted for the swordfish steak, served on a roasted head of romaine lettuce with seasonal baby vegetables and a herb aioli. The flavors were vibrant, and once again, the pairing was splendid. For dessert, we shared the bread pudding, and like the rest of our meal, it was a classic that did not disappoint. Their wine list is extensive, ranging from budget-friendly to more premium options. Most selections are Californian, but they also offer some French wines, including Châteauneuf du Pape and Bordeaux for reds, as well as Sancerre and Pouilly-Fuissé for whites, along with the standard Malbec from Argentina. We chose the Pouilly-Fuissé, priced at $64 a bottle, with no surprises. We will definitely be returning to this establishment soon.
