The food and service was outstanding. However, the price was a bit overboard for the Mother's Day Menu. Also, our table of felt extremely crowded, but there was no flexibility in seating, so we made due View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about The Melting Pot Reston:
The service was great but just slow because they were so busy. The food was actually not as good as it usually is and the amazing green goddess sauce that we all love was awful… it was so runny. We were a bit disappointed this time… no more going on special events with set menus for us. View all feedback.
I had never been to a Melting Pot before and was excited when a friend invited me. Parking at this location is easy as there's a parking deck attached to the same building. Our reservation was on time, the restaurant was clean and had a nice, slightly romantic ambience. Our waiter was super helpful in explaining how to order and prepare our foods. My cocktail was ok...definitely had better LOL but since we were celebrating my friend's birthday, our waiter also brought 2 complimentary glasses of champagne with dessert which was sweet and made the evening that much better. Can't wait to go again! Definitely worth the price for the experience.
I went here for my birthday on July 28th and it was amazing! They had the table decorated with rose petals. (per my boyfriends request) The food is absolutely delicious and the service is always amazing! Great place great atmosphere! May I also recommend the blackberry margarita!
Fun dining experience. This place is great to go to for a fun dining experience where you have to cook your own food and have a long, multi-course meal. The food is quite good but you?re essentially paying top dollar for some pieces of meat and vegetables to cook yourself? you?re paying more for the fondue experience than the cooking (best for dates/special occasions). Definitely get a broth and an oil for your entree so you can have two cooking styles. Also I thought that the Wisconsin Cheddar Cheese fondue was lacking in flavor and wish it had more seasoning, so I would suggest ordering a different cheese fondue. I think they were understaffed because it took quite a long time between courses so we were there 2.5-3 hours. But our waiter was super nice and we had fun cooking our food. Overall a good experience!
We've been here for over 20 years. It is still intimate and tasty, but the portions are now much smaller, and less varied, unless you want to pay more. They added more cooking methods, and I recommend the Mojo style. Also, do yourself a favor and try the love Martini. The traditional fondue with the Emmentaler and gruyere Swiss, cherry brandy, garlic and nutmeg is an article that I unfortunately see omitted on the current menu. It is a classic and should not be replaced! It would be great if they were to return the breads. A style just seemed boring. Service was decent, but younger employees don't seem to realize how classic this restaurant is in the area.
This is a great place to come at any time! The Melting Pot is a great place to experience the magic of the fondue. We highly recommend to come on a Wednesday as they have something called Best Fondue Friends Forever or BFFF, which only costs $40 a person versus $50 for 4 courses. With this deal you will also get a special entree garlic chicken, Teriyaki steak, shrimp and fillet mignon as well as free Macarons and Kreme puffs with you chocolate fondue. In addition, if you come on a Thursday, you can experience ThursDate which is somewhat cheaper, but you also get a table with rose petals sprinkled with a few candles. The staff here was very nice and you could see that they were very passionate. At first when we arrived, we gave them the name for our reservation, they are currently reserved, but there was a mix-up, and our name was not on the list. They fully understand that mistakes happen, and gave us a table anyway, and even have us on a bigger one when we asked. Then, in the middle of our courses, the manager came to our table and introduced himself and asked us personally if we need anything. We needed to go to the last table, and the staff didn't know we were still there and started singing! A staff, including the manager, could be heard singing Hakuna Matata at the top of her lung? They then drove to the front of the restaurant and saw us. They became a little sheep, and the manager stayed apologise. The whole thing was very hearty, and we could tell the employees that it really enjoyed working there and were comfortable with their boss. Back, this is an amazing place to come when you 're in need for something else.
