Woodbourne Tavern - Renwick

Lovely spot good place to have a moi like how it hasn’t changed much since first introduced to our family room there and the sleeping house my bro David and I shared . Who used to work there when he was 18 grandma and granddad brought us here and it was one of the first times I had my own double bed when I was 4 or 5 thanks for the room last week will come again to share this experience with you all again soon . Food: 4

We stayed here for two nights with our campervan to do a wine tasting Tour. The place is a standard parking spot but still lovely and quiet. We appreciated the kindness of the owner to stay here for free and use their bathroom. All stuff was so kind and helpful, just lovely. By the way they also serve great food and beer! We loved everything about this stay. Highly recommend. Food: 4

Old school family owned pub, value and yummy food. If that’s your thing The Woody is the perfect stop. Accommodation was clean, well appointed, had everything I needed. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

We stayed here for a couple of nights for an 80th birthday celebration in the private bar. Very comfortable 2bdrm units. The staff at the tavern looked after our gluten free needs really well, we were impressed. We'd definitely stay here again. 10 star rating... Was disgusted and appalled at the prejudice and lack of professionalism that they displayed to myself and my family. I was told there were no rooms, only to find out later she was lying due to the fact that over the phone she didn't like the way I sounded, so she made up a story about truckers coming through and lied to me about it all hmm okaaaay. So I tell the officer I was stuck he goes in and finds all this out for me as he didn't want my family out in the cold. I'm thinking cool we have a place to stay but now I'm thinking she was a bit embarrassed but also salty that she has been caught in an outright lie by a customer and an officer Then after learning my story knowing I couldn't drive my car til the morning she said for me and my family (wife and two kids) to stay it's going to cost 280 for one night. TAHUNANUI and QUEENSTOWN were cheaper by like 70 BUCKS. This is in Renwick a little township near blenhim with a dairy a petrol station and a pub that's attached to the motel itself that's it. haha 280 to stay there what In the flying feijoas is going on that's ridiculous So after receiving nothing but prejudice lies and what feels like big middle finger, here's the TOP 10 REASONS WHY YOU SHOULDN'T STAY HERE my middle finger if you will. •over priced 280 2adults 2 children 150 for 1 adult •rooms are cold and damp •rooms like a prison cell •dirty bar and place in general •dogs in the kitchen when staff cooking •very loud, people wake you up as they get ready for work including staff •children from staff themselves running around wild loud and in the bar itself •lack of integrity and respect •prejudice and untrustworthy •unwelcoming vibes with bad location
