best deep food pizza I ever had! better than lou malnatis giordanos in chicago, yes I know crazy about reno. I talked to the owner for over 30 minutes and he gave me the story about how he learned how to make the deep court. he is from south side chicago, so they get legit deep dish in Reno...nuff said! I got an Italian beef wet with cheese only and onion rings to go. The onion rings were great with Bronco sauce which you can ask for. The Italian beef was better than any of the ones that I’ve had in Chicago. I highly recommend this place. There was also a bar inside with plenty of options. Great little unique spot that I didn’t expect to find in Reno.
With multiple selections inspired by food straight from The Windy City , Taste of Chicago hits the spot when you crave authenticity. I tried their tavern style pizza with Wisconsin mozzarella cheese, zesty Chicago style sauce, and imported Chicago Italian sausage. The sauce is fantastic and really adds robust flavor to the pie. Combined with the meat and cheese it just all works together very, very well. Likewise, the beef sandwich (stuffed with Italian sausage, mozzarella cheese and spicy peppers) also works very well. Tender beef, flavorful sausage, creamy cheese, and peppers (with just enough heat to keep you foolishly coming back for more) is truly amazing; if you 're feeling adventurous, try the sandwich dipped with battered fries! Last but certainly not least, the staff here is on par with the food. The service was attentive, observant, professional, friendly, and polite (despite, during my visit, having one extremely irate and very disrespectful and aggressive patron angrily express his displeasure with an alleged mix-up with his already consumed order). Needless to say, no one was wacked during the course of my dine-in experience. Chicago... You know what I mean
Alright let me be real. The food was good. The hotdogs aren't huge and not complicated but they were definitely delicious. The service was slow BUT it makes sense because there was only 1 lady working. She was the waiter, cashier, bar tender and greeter all rolled into one. I appreciated that especially when I have kids with me and it's tough. I would easily go back again but if you're impatient, don't go.
The pizza is outstanding! There was a bit of a wait, but it was definitely worth it. You really don't need an extra-large pizza for two people; a medium is more than enough for a meal!
I tried the Chicago-style deep dish pizza and the buffalo wings, and it was the best dining experience I've ever had. The wings were crispy and incredibly flavorful, and the deep dish pizza, which I had for the first time, was simply amazing. The waitress and bartender were both fantastic. After this experience in Reno, I immediately bought a ticket to Chicago to see if the pizza there is just as good!
