L&l Hawaiian Bbq - Reno

Food was good, especially the lumpia! Spam musubi was good, but we told them no sauce on some and even though they were packaged separately, they had sauce. They were still good.Food: 5/5

First time trying this chain, and disappointed to the point where me and my mum laughed. Bbq ribs were so chewy, they were like gum. Fried fish tasted like nothing but salt and had a cardboard texture. The cashier was also nasty in how he handled the food and utensils. He dropped a fork on the ground and still put it in another customer's bag, sticking his fingers in the sauce container they have in front. Supposedly other places aren't as bad as this one, so we'll give it another shot somewhere else

This place used to be great….. two years ago. Came back to give it a shot and unfortunately I was so overwhelmed by the smell of Clorox throughout the restaurant I decided to get my food to go only to discover the food was over cooked in the rice was so dry it felt like it was going to crack my tooth. (they also forgot my utensils)I wish I could say that the staff was at least courteous and helpful. I was given attitude just for asking for some sauce.I feel sorry for the owner. Always great food and great serviceIn the 4 years I've been goin here to this location.Only once have I had absolutely terrible service. I called ahead. Walked in to pickup and it wasn't ready. I even reordered and the girl placed it. And wasn't ready right before closing. I was upset and have NO CLUE how they didn't get mine ready since I was sittin right there for 30 minutes.She gave me my refund and I left. Every time I've been back though. It's been 5/5 service and yummy ness and she no longer work there

I 've been to this location many times but I keep forgetting to review it; so, here goes. I usually get the BBQ short rib combo; it comes with three pieces of short ribs, a couple scoops of steamed rice and macaroni salad plus I added a large drink to the order. I like the flavor of the short rib and unlike most people, I enjoy the fatty bits too (like chef Emeril Lagasse said: Fat is flavor! ; so, a bit of fat doesn 't turn me off. The steamed rice was dense and macaroni salad was fairly basic but when eaten together with the meat, it was tasty. The portion size was good too but the meal is a bit on the pricey side, $20 for just myself is on the higher end of my food budget. The restaurant only had three people when I got there, so the service was quick, it took less than 15 minutes to get my order. The cashiers were okay; both people I encountered (because I came in just as their shift changed projected an attitude of boredom and indifference, but I got my food to-go, so I didn 't really care all that much; overall, I still say the experience was a pretty positive one.
