All served by helpful and friendly people in a lovely quirky area. Had great food and drinks throughout a four day stay but this was the standout, don't miss !
This was the first restaurant we visited in Rennes and we were delighted. In my next trip to Rennes, definitively, I come back. Service was very good and the crepes were delicious. My favorite one was with the sausage and a white sauce. I ordered the one with Andouillette which is the specialty but it was not as good as the one with sausage (I think it is called Rustique) that ordered my friend (we shared our plates). For dessert we shared a dame blanche, that was perfect. This kind of places, you need to reserve. The place was packed within minutes.
I love crepes, tried a lot of crepes in France including Paris, St. Malo, and Dinard. Ouzh-Taol in Rennes is by far the best crepe I've had in my life. I dined on a Thursday night and it was difficult to get in. I had to wait 30 minutes but the wait was worth it. The owner and waitress speaks limited English but they were all so nice! There's an English menu! I ordered L'Oceane (fresh Scallops, Salmon and mushrooms). Everything about this dish is so good. The scallops in particular were cooked to perfection. I also ordered the semi-sweet cider. Semi-sweet is too sweet. I recommend to try something that's not so sweet. This place is a must go but go early to avoid the wait.
Excellent accueil !
A refaire
