We selected Aozen based on Michelin and TripAdvisor´s rating. We had expected it would be the highest point meal during our stay in Rennes. The restaurant is go... read more We selected Aozen based on Michelin and TripAdvisor´s rating. We had expected it would be the highest point meal during our stay in Rennes. The restaurant is good, the food is ok and the service is very good. But unfortunatelly it was not an "ooh" type of meal, as we expected. The food was correct but rather bland. Nothing impressive. Based on the resume of the chef and the reviews in the sites, we expected something more rich in taste. The wine chart was very good and we had a good wine for a fair price. The service was very nice and attentive. The ambience is nice, the decor clean and the kitchen in the center of the room a nice touch. Unfortunately, the food was a little disapointing. Perhaps we had too high expectations for a Michelin starred restaurant. It is nice but, based on the meal we had, we would not give it the star.

The accompaniment of the wines is perfectly in agreement with the dishes. The search for the chef in the flavors made some sacred discoveries to our palace. (the rhubarb mackerel is memorable for me but I don't forget the pigeon and its consummation of beet griotte) I also enjoyed the little attention given to my companion for his birthday. In short, I highly recommend all gourmets and gourmets.

I recommend the matching menu, with the combination of dishes and wines because the wines are really very well chosen, very well described, very good and really in agreement with the dishes. Be careful, there's no cqrte, you don't choose the dishes. That's also what we enjoyed, let yourself be guided with a lot of talent.
