We were on a weekend getaway and dropped in to In The Loop for a bite to eat.We ordered chicken and taters and it was the best that I have eaten.Sad thing is that now I want it again and it's so far away.I think...they should set up another restaurant on the south coast! View all feedback.
What Caroline Gusikowski doesn't like about In Da Loop:
I drove 40 km over a dark, mossed autobahn to get a meal because I was on the go and that was the only restaurant that was apparently open. guess what? they weren't. they were closed hours before their booked closing time (both the bar and the...restaurant) I called the next day to ask why and was told that it was because they changed their hours and not updated the information online. Thank you. I didn't meet any of... View all feedback.
We stopped in for a quick bite while doing the Irish Loop. We were literally the only two people in the restaurant side, and there were two gentlemen playing VLTs on the bar side. Our server was quick and attentive (considering there were no other customers, I was hoping this would be a given). We both had chowder, and split an order of garlic cheese fingers. The chowder was good - basically what you'd expect from a restaurant on the side of the road in Fermeuse. It had a very thick, creamy consistency; if I was at home, I'd have added a little more milk to the recipe. Consistency aside, it was flavourful and had lots of local seafood in it. The garlic cheese fingers were good, but still had a taste to them that made me believe they'd been cooked from frozen (like, taken out of a package, frozen), though I honestly didn't have super-high expectations. The donair sauce was the perfect consistency for dipping, and was very tasty. If I was really hungry I might stop in again, or I'd just check Trip Advisor for somewhere else down the road that might be a little more authentic and homemade.
Stooped for a late lunch after a long morning and afternoon sightseeing. The menu was very good with a nice variety of choices. Staff were all very nice.
Pretty standard menu for a diner in Newfoundland. Bright, clean, good staff and quick. Good stop when looking for whales
We stopped at In Da Loop while on a road trip around the Irish Loop in Newfoundland . The menu was extensive and we weren't really sure what we would find in a small place a bit out of tourist season and no one else there BUT what a surprise we had. First we were met by a lovely lady who told us everything was available so 3 of us ordered fish and chips and 2 had soup, one turkey, one beef. Well the soups were so fresh and plentiful with vegetables and meat, you knew it was homemade. The waitress told us there were 3 of them and they all cooked and made everything themselves. She said they baked a turkey every day and made all different things from it, like my soup! Every one of us raved about our meals. She brought out samples of 3 things for us to try as well and told us about the Newfoundland speciality of chips with stuffing ( dressing) and gravy. Yum! The 3 women were like a family and we felt at " home" eating our lunch.
Service was excellent, staff very welcoming and friendly All very clean Well worth a visit - recommended to friends in St John's who had never been! Would strongly recommend a visit
