The food at The Ginger was fresh, well presented, and innovative, showcasing a fusion of French techniques with traditional Thai recipes. For starters, we tried the Prawn Ginger Tacos, which were cooked perfectly and served on kumara slices with a tasty tamarind sauce. For the main course, we ordered the Ginger Salad and Panang Beef Curry with roti and rice. The snapper in the salad was fresh and crunchy, with a zesty lemon flavor. The Panang curry had a nice mildness, but was a bit too salty and the beef could have been more tender. However, the roti was excellent, with a milky flavor and perfect texture. The presentation of the food at The Ginger is top-notch, with delicate portions and slightly higher prices that reflect the dining experience. Our waitress was friendly and attentive, although we were too full to try any desserts. Maybe next time! Overall, The Ginger is a great choice for Thai food with a rating of 8.5/10 for food, 10/10 for food presentation, 9/10 for service, 9.5/10 for ambiance, and 8.5/10 for value for money. The price is around $50 per person (excluding alcohol).
Discovered. By accident. A wow dining experience. An extensive menu with a signature dish in each category of food or flavor. The award winning Thai chef is French trained. I can’t help thinking about Michelin Stars when I dine there. If you go for the top of the table dishes, flavors and presentation best to shy away from the banquet dishes for four or for a group. They tend to average the spread down for pricing and you get stuff you perhaps wouldn’t have chosen for preference. Who am I ? I eat out a lot and am quite discerning; maybe critical, but I enjoy Ginger for the expectation of going, the ambience, the food, the service and the memories. Howzat ? Roger P
