What jrncsa1 doesn't like about Michaels Deli Catering Llc:
Michael's Cafe is now called Main Course and is at 1600 Main Street Columbia, SC. The staff is friendly and nice, but, the bar, restaurant, and restrooms are in poor condition. Peeling paint, cobwebs, and filth. Most importantly the food has no real taste to it. On another note, if your serving chicken and waffles (they call it birdie and waffles) for $16.00, it certainly should be served with REAL Maple syrup. View all feedback.
The restaurant I planned to go to was full. What to do. I walked passes Michael’s, checked them out on Tripadvisor and decided to give it a try. Excellent move. The atmosphere is okay but the food was very good. I had the duck egg rolls and the fried rice, which came with a small but delicious side salad. The egg rolls were fresh made with a lot of duck meat and veggies topped with a chili sauce. Simply delicious. The fried rice was unique and very good. The service was very good as well. My meal and a glass of Cabernet cost me $33 plus tip. My thought to be misfortune turned into a delightful meal.
What a cute place and great food. The waitress was so sweet and attentive. would definitely go back! Very cool that the top golf virtual golf was awesome!
Nice place to stop after visiting the Soda City Market with family. The server Matt did a great job handling the party of 7. They offered a variety of food from the brunch, lunch menu and dinner menu. Everyone in the party opted for lunch choices. The fold came out in a timely manner and everyone enjoyed it. We will definitely be back.
Easter Sunday on the beautiful Main Street of Columbia, looking for somewhere classy and casual for the three of us. My meal was a BLT sandwich with fries all good hot and delicious. Our son's meal was a Ruben sandwich with fries. The fries were cold, top slice was cold and the bottom was soggy. Clearly, that had been waiting for my meal and sitting on the counter more about that later. But the piece de resistance was my wife's meal from the brunch menu list the Big Mama breakfast. Simply put, this was inedible. Now, I'm not one to leave food on any plate but when my wife gave up after about 20% consumed, there was nothing worth salvaging. One small piece of fried chicken on a biscuit with soggy, soft potatoes surrounding everything was just not impressive. This was far worse than KFC. What a big disappointment after being touted as a signature dish. The wait for all this was 40 minutes just not acceptable when the cafe was less than half full. We watched staff troop across the street bringing in supplies from another shop four times in that time. If you are open on a day like Easter Sunday, do it properly or just don't do it.
Family visit for lunch there are no regrets. The hostess wasn’t friendly when we arrived; no smile, no cheerful greeting. However, we looked around the patrons looked happy, chatting, food looked good, so we stayed despite her cold unfriendly greeting. We were taken to the Top Golf area. Max was our waiter he was attentively awesome during the entire visit. Smiling, cheerful, small talk, informative, patient; great waiter. The food was served hot delicious. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our meals and the atmosphere. What a great visit we had; we shall return.
