4,7/5 The final Michelin restaurant of my gourmet culinary tour of Reims: a 1-star, downtown restaurant that had me intrigued for some time (seldom mentioned by friends or colleagues)… it was truly a nice discovery. Access is quick and easy near the town hall, on foot if living in city center (quite practical), valet parking available. No outdoor seating unfortunately (unlike another starred downtown restaurant). The dining hall is very spacious, very high ceilings, aerated seating to preserve privacy, host staff dedicated and energetic. A special mention to the sommelier; charismatic, professional quick-witted to answer any remark! The meal in itself was very generous, with some mouth-watering concoctions; the langoustine (prawn) as well as the celery risotto with Champagne caviar topped my preferences. I personally found the pollock (lieu jaune) with spinach confusing, as it abruptly disrupted the well-executed flow of flavors up till then! The final sweet touch saw a pear-variation presentation which I found exquisite and delicate. The wine pairing was also beautifully thought and executed. Their 100% meunier, 2018 Millésime « Éclatante » champagne from maison Goulard is still carved in my memory. Cheese tray was impressive, both in variety and quality. Chef Benjamin Andreux really brings the best of the ingredients used, and succeeds in « bringing the flavors he grew up with into the meals he serves ». We really had it for our money, and left the restaurant full satisfied! Though it could benefit from some improvements (redesigning the WC for example), and the presence of other notorious starred restaurants around, it’s certainly a very interesting address to discover… and even to try a couple of times!!
We came her in 2019 and haven’t been back because of Covid, just returned tonight and it was like we were here last night, just the same and amazing food, just incredible
My wife, aunt and myself booked a table here a week or so ago, and went to the restaurant last night. The restaurant was very helpful with the booking and allowed us to bring our two small dogs along to dinner with us. We each had a different meal. I had one if the best burgers I've ever tasted, my wife had the 7 hour cooked lamb and my aunt had the volailles with potatoes which were also delicious. The desserts were also very good. We had really professional and attentive service throughout. Highly recommended!!
Came in for lunch and Wow! The flavors are clean and brilliant. We had the burger with Brie. The combo of burger, caramelized onions and arugula is indescribable. The poultry supreme was perfection on a plate with a sauce to die for. Pavlova for dessert was superb This is the kind of local neighborhood place that you search for in France.
