Summer House - REHOBOTH BEACH

We ordered the Sirloin/risotto and French Dip...both awesome! Usually kinda busy, but got lucky on a Saturday night, only about a 10m wait. Been wanting to try this place for years coming to Rehoboth, didn't disappoint.

I wish I could have had the pleasure of dining at your restaurant this Father's day with my husband, wheelchair bound mother and 3 month old baby daughter but your front of house staff were not accommodating to our special needs. When entering we were asked to leave our stroller outside. I then explained that she is only 3 months she is physically on able to sit on her own, when the naive host offered me a highchair or booster seat. Despite my child's circumstances they did not offer any realistic accommodations which we would have needed due to my mother requiring a handicap accessible table anyway. It is disappointing that on a day celebrating parenthood that we were treated with such discrimination. Luckily, we went down the street to another restaurant and they were able to accommodate us in a kind way so the night was not totally ruined.

As a kid, I would walk by this place every day, on my way to the ocean and again at night, on my way to the boardwalk. We were lucky to afford to go and stay at the cottages by the canal so dining out was out for us. This place always seemed fancy and there was always a crowd of nicely dressed people waiting for tables. I finally went to the Summer House on my most recent visit because they offer gluten free crab cakes. To be honest, I was underwhelmed by my visit. The crab cakes (2/order) were good but they were very small and the sides were uninteresting. My husband got a seafood pasta that he liked ok. The atmosphere was nothing special, there was a big puddle on the floor from a ceiling AC vent, and I had to switch chairs at my table bc mine was sticky. None of this was awful but I felt it was not worth the money. The biggest compliment I can give is that the staff was courteous and attentive throughout the whole experience.

We went for the young children early bird and thank goodness! It got so busy after 4:45. I loved my wedge salad and chicken tacos and my kids loved the French fries. My husband enjoyed his bowl and our server was super friendly and attentive. Great local spot!!

Didn?t plan to stop in here, but glad we did. Was just supposed to grab a drink and head elsewhere for dinner, but when we got to the other place, decided to come right back. Great drinks, great vibe and the food was delicious! I got the steak medallions cooked perfectly and my date had the seafood pasta- highly recommend. Would visit again!
