First appearances inside this place looked promising; cosy shop for pastries and chocolates... The lunch we had was terrible though, not worthy 'Italian food '. The caprese was so so, little bit old/dry mozarella. The pasta dishes were all disappointing (not fresh pasta , toppings were bad). The two/five rating? Because of the really nice old lady behind the counter... PS. Cash only! View all feedback.
Zero cleaning, bad service, two aperitifs exaggerated without anything to eat and a water 11€ . we avoid
Simply an icon for Reggello and not only... try to believe!
I first came across this little gem around 15 years ago. Just enjoyed one of many return holidays to Reggello. This bar is located at the top of town most evenings we sat and watched the world go by. The lady owner will greet you in Italian no English. Her precise way of preparing your drink is really unique as she will chill your glass before serving white wine and heat your glass for cognac. Prices are good and you feel like a local during your visits. Light brunch type meals are also served daily. She also has a great selection of chocolate and sweet desserts. A truly lovely experience.
We, a sixty something couple, arrived in Reggello at 12.00 noon today in search of light refreshment and found this café on one of the town's small squares. It doesn't look much from the outside, but inside it is absolutely full of character and charm. There was the usual selection of pastries, cakes, pizzas and sandwiches all served by an elderly lady who listened politely to my attempt to order in Italian. In the end, she was joined by a young waitress who spoke perfect English and served our meal under the canopy outside. Excellent value for money half a pizza, a croissant and two coffees for 5 euros. When we finished, we asked the waitress how to find the Tourist Information Office and not only did she tell us, but in case the office was closed, gave us a detailed description of local places to visit.
Wasted coffee and cappuccino so good and creamy, I never tasted it. The cups in which they are served
