Was Anonym at Japs Table a mag?
Eaten here many times. Bit of a BBQ / grille taste to most of the meats which I like, so all good. Decor a bit daggy but the food makes up for it. The eggplant main dish is greatCan get quite busy at times. Not huge servings but you shouldn't leave hungry. Will definitely frequent again (& again). View all feedback.

What Anonym dislikes about Japs Table:
I went for dinner and had salmon sushi and the BBQ Eel Donburi. I'm spoiled because of the amazing Japanese food we have in my home town of Vancouver and this wasn't up to that standard. The sushi consisted of a large block of rice with a thin layer of salmon on it. In Vancouver, the salmon is sliced at least 1/2" thick and isn't just a thin layer of fish on rice. The two things are about equal - as good sushi should... View all feedback.

Overall rating: +3 points for the quality of food, with a special mention for the variety of sashimi offered. The noise level at Jap's table is quiet, making it a pleasant dining experience. The establishment is highly recommended for fans of chirashi don, as the head chef's dedication to his craft is evident in the well-sliced and sweet fish. Additionally, the ramen at Jap's table is surprisingly good, with firm noodles and unique broth options. Recommended dishes include chirashi don and green tea or black sesame ice cream. The service is polite and the cozy venue offers both standard and traditional seating options.

Went here for dinner tonight quaint little Japanese place with floor seating like in Japan and regular tables. Traditionally dressed Japanese lady serving and very sweet and nice demeanour. A cold towel to freshen up was a nice touch. We ordered a sashimi salad which was fresh lettuce, seaweed, and fresh kingfish, salmon and tuna sashimi. It also had a bit of tofu and a sesame dressing. Very nice. Hubby got the eel sushi which was also very good and also an asahi. Great spot for Japanese they also serve edamame, agedashi tofu, ramen and don bowls.

Cute, cosy Japanese joint. The only downer is that it's very smoky because of the yakitori. The tatami seating is a nice touch, especially great for people who aren't too comfortable sitting cross legged there's a hole underneath so you can dangle your feet normally. The chicken katsu and egg on rice was tasty, the gyoza was great, the chicken yakitori also good. Only the agedashi tofu was a bit too heavy handed with soy sauce in its broth for me. Note that's it's BYO only, otherwise there are just light beverages.

The service at this restaurant is excellent and the meals are served quickly. We ordered the chickatsu don and chicken don, both of which came with a delicious omelette on top, which was a unique touch. The rice was a bit soggy, but the chicken pieces were cooked perfectly. The prices are reasonable for a Japanese lunch. The salmon aburi was fantastic and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Thank you to Xihuahua for suggesting this change in lunch plans.

I recently discovered a charming and adorable Japanese restaurant near Redfern station and was pleasantly surprised. The sashimi was delicious and fresh, and the main courses were exceptionally good. The knowledgeable staff provided excellent service, and the miso soup was surprisingly affordable at only $1. If you're in the mood for casual dining with high-quality Japanese cuisine at a reasonable price, I highly recommend checking out Jap's Table!
