Solid pub with surprisingly great food. Local vibes during the week, but a more lively spot on the weekends.
The rooms are very well-maintained and clean. There are communal toilets and bathrooms but they are very clean and often readily available. The location is very good as it is close to lots of beautiful architecture, the Liberty Hall, Moore Park and is only 15 minutes (driving) from the airport. There are also nice street stores nearby and there is a servo just behind the bar. The service was absolutely incredible! Everyone was so lovely and accommodating and the bartenders were absolutely gorgeous. It was my first time at a bar and they were friendly and informative while also being able to attend to others needs. I will definitely be returning! Rooms: They are plain but plenty of space. The bed is soft and cushiony and the room has good basics. There was nothing rusty, old or unmaintained. The bed wasn't squeaky or anything either! Nearby activities: A lot of nearby street stores, outdoor gyms, parks, walking tracks, etc. There is a lot of beautiful, old architecture and the pathways along Moore Park lead straight to them which eventually leads to the stores. There's also a Vinnies there for thrifters. The hotel is also close to the airport and St Mary's Cathedral. My friend and I Uber'd the whole trip and the rides were quick and cheap. Safety: Very safe. The communal rooms for guests are protected from the rest of the bar with passcodes sent via email and then guests personal rooms are protected with specific room codes. Accommodation is also upstairs and away from the rest of the bar which keeps it safe from drunk people and prevents any noise from the bar from entering your space. Walkability: Really good! My friend and I walked to basically everywhere from here (save the Cathedral, Opera House, etc which were short drives instead). We walked to the Liberty Hall for a concert and it only took us 15 minutes along a very simple path. Food and drinks: We didn't get a chance to try the food but the drinks were very nice and well made! I'm quite picky with alcohol but the bartenders were very skilled and the price was generous for the quality. Noteworthy details: The service was delightful. Everyone was so friendly and cheerful and all seemed to get along. They also handled those drunk very well, ensuring cut off and preventing any aggression. They also maintained privacy for guests.
