Located in the hipster neighborhood of Redfern, this rustic cafe run by a couple is a local favorite, especially on weekends. The omelette with spinach and mushroom was a standout dish, perfectly cooked and filled generously. The cafe also offers a variety of freshly baked goods, which is a specialty. The service may not be exceptional, as the barista often has to double up as floor staff. However, the cozy and dog-friendly atmosphere, along with the delicious lunch specials, make it a great spot for locals. Customers have raved about the corn and pea fritters and beef burger. The menu is extensive and offers drool-worthy options, with huge servings like the Sweet Potato Hash. The Turmeric Latte and Matcha Chai Latte come highly recommended for a unique and tasty experience. Great spot if you work locally as they have well priced and delicious lunch specials. I would highly recommend the corn and pea fritters- crunchy and juicy topped with a beautiful tomato salsa and halloumi
I love this place, my long black wasn't burnt, and made according to my specifications, the cakes were freshly made and the staff lovely.. will definitely come back
We went to this restaurant in April 2022 and were somewhat let down to find that their menu had changed significantly from what was listed on Happy Cow. The vegan big breakfast, for instance, was no longer available. However, the staff were still accommodating and prepared a custom vegan dish for us upon request.
The restaurant has a great eclectic atmosphere and the service is very friendly. While there are not a ton of vegan options, what they do have is tasty. There are plenty of gluten-free options clearly marked on the menu. This local gem is definitely worth a visit.
