Description

Nestled near a local garage, this café presents a mixed experience, where hearty breakfasts and friendly staff are overshadowed by a chaotic atmosphere. Patrons enjoy large portions and decent food, but the owner's loud demeanor and strict seating policy leave many feeling uncomfortable. Reports of unwelcoming behavior toward newcomers, alongside concerns about cleanliness and customer treatment, reveal a troubling inconsistency in service. While some rave about the warmth and quality, others caution potential visitors to prepare for an overwhelming environment. Ultimately, this establishment’s charm and flaws coexist, making it a gamble for those seeking a relaxed café experience.

I stumbled upon this fantastic restaurant while waiting for work to be done on my car at Mr. Tyre. The staff were all friendly and enjoyable, and I enjoyed a hot, proper cup of tea and a delicious sandwich.

This is not the best place to visit. It is not welcoming unless you are already known by the staff. I witnessed a disturbing incident where a man on crutches was denied a seat to drink his coffee, apparently because the tables were reserved for regular customers. This behavior is unacceptable and disrespectful. There were plenty of empty seats available, so there was no reason to treat him this way. It is important for businesses to listen to customer feedback and make improvements rather than dismissing criticism. It is also important to prioritize customer comfort and cleanliness.

I absolutely adore this place! The breakfasts are of exceptional quality and the staff are so delightful and friendly. They always make you feel so welcome. This is definitely the best place in Redditch for breakfast. I truly love this place. Thank you so much, Emily Palmer xxxx

I popped in for breakfast whilst having a car problem sorted at garage next door. There were 4 ladies serving but one of them probably the boss was screeching at the top of her voice for the whole half an hour I was there. She shrieked at the staff and the customers, on the phone and even when singing along to the radio. The other staff and customers looked shell shocked. I don’t think she knows just how loud she is. It was 8am and a group of local workmen were waiting for sandwiched outside. As I left one smiled and mentioned ‘she’d give you a migraine’. Someone needs to tell her that she will drive customers away! The food itself was cheap and pretty ok. The portion was large (large breakfast) but the tea wasn’t very hot. The place looked clean but the salt cellar was think with rust and not able to sprinkle salt. It’s what I’d call a ‘greasy spoon’ cafe and au would have given it 4/5 if it hadn’t been for the shrike behind the counter. She was cheerful enough but honestly she gave me a headache. That’s the only reason I would not go back which is a shame as I like this type of cafe normally.

Great breakfast, awesome sandwich. Had to go to the doctors afterwards with a ring in my ear, doctor says the damage is permanent. Thanks Amy.
