What User doesn't like about Hilltop Diner:
I was disappointed with my experience. The eggs were overcooked, and the hash browns were dry. The meal took 45 minutes to arrive, and it tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for most of that time. Our server was friendly, but service was quite slow. View all feedback.

The dinner was fantastic! We are in Redding for work and have eaten at the Hilltop Diner for dinner twice. Both nights, Ali was our server, and she provided five-star service along with wonderful recommendations. We will definitely dine there again.

I have read a lot about the new hilltop diner that has moved into the vacated marie calender building. I thought I'd see myself. the service was fast and friendly. the hostess and waitress seemed a little young and perhaps inexperienced, but they did well. they made me welcome and visited it. I have seen chicago hot dog on the map. I was drunk all afternoon over a hot dog. from outside chicago, if I can find someone who can do a decent Chicago dog, they will have a loyal customer. they were from hot dogs. Nuts.Okay we go with a teriyaki burger and pommes. After a little bit, I thought he might be going to take too long. I stopped and told myself, "Where should I be? if I had a hurry, I would have met an almost food match. "I stepped back and read my book. soon came my order. wow! a stacked burger, straight grilled. they are called the grill. Perfect balance of sweet and spicy. the pommes were even delicious. I think I grew up these stacked two-handed burgers. I like to lay it down between the bites without it falling apart. that's what's popular today, and this one has been well executed. I'm glad I stopped. I'm back and I'm looking forward to her chicago hot dog.
Went there on a Saturday evening. Seated right away in a mostly empty restaurant. Burgers for kids and me were burnt. Very dry and completely tasteless. Wife ordered mashed potatoes with turkey dinner plate that tasted like instant potatoes from a box. Told the manager who did offer my son a cookie (by far the best part of the whole dinner...seriously, might consider returning for cookies only), and me a replacement burger. Should have said just take the charge off the bill and I 'll eat the burnt dry burger, because what 's the point of a second attempt now that I 'm full on the fries, which were actually decent and I guess the second best part of the diner experience. Microwaved the burger the next day since I wasn 't in the mood for one and a half large breakfast burger . Bad idea as microwaving a large burger that includes tomatoes/lettuce is nasty. Overall, would not return. Way more restaraunt options in town with much higher quality food.
