What a welcome supplement to barkingside high street is spice. the layout is spacious so that tables do not fight for elbow rooms next to each other. it is much... read more What a welcome supplement to barkingside high street is spice. the layout is spacious so that tables do not fight for elbow rooms next to each other. it is much bigger than they would think looking at the front window of the high street, as it is quite far...back they have invested in a modern interieur with modern chandeliers and deepened lighting. we were assured to see that they still care about customers with handsanitisers etc., despite the elimination of all covid restrictions. cleanliness is really important to us, so I was relieved, the toilets were also very hygienic and kept clean. the waiters were polite, attentive and efficient. we had been looking for kebabs to begin and were impressed when they asked if we prefer them medium or spicy. that meant they were ready to order instead of mass. they were made of good quality lambmint so remained moist, but not greasy. the spicing was perfect and they had tasted the “grooves over coal”. would also highly recommend the huh shashlik tasty morsel of spicy chicken. the simple naan was also authentic-light, fluffy brot that had to be cooked in a real tandoor ofen. the lamb madras, king prawn madras and king prawn dansak were all delicious. at the end of the meal the waiters gave very friendly the women from our group Easter (even if there is a few weeks to Easter Sunday and offered the men a free digestion aid. in anbetracht des ambientes, the quality of eating and the attentive service we found spice really good value for money. it was cheaper than many we take away in pastness for other kitchen like japanese, Korean etc. we visited on a Monday evening as it was birthday of my wife and thought it would be empty because it was a Monday, but there were several other diners so it must be popular. it is the right place for an evening for a birthday / jubilee, as the facility above its average Indian restaurant, so lives up to special occasions, but also ideal for a relaxed evening meal for two if they do not want to cook and want somewhere affordable for a fast meal. will definitely return soon.
