What Brenna Jurczak doesn't like about Prerogative Kitchen:
The kale Caesar was underdressed, and when we asked for more dressing and ketchup for my child, the response was quite annoyed. Unfortunately, the extra dressing didn’t improve things; it tasted like anchovy-flavored mayonnaise. The chicken thighs were unremarkable, and the Brussels sprouts had a decent first bite but quickly became overwhelmingly salty. It felt like we were part of some elaborate joke. It seemed the... At this restaurant, you place your order at the counter, selecting all your food and drinks at once, along with your tip, before finding a seat. The food and drinks arrived promptly, and everything was delicious and thoughtfully prepared. The summer salad features edible flowers, the broccoli rapini was exceptional, and the tofu was very tasty. The steak was also delightful. I hope the staff is compensated well since they have customers handle some tasks like ordering food, getting drinks, and settling the bill. Aside from that, the service was excellent. The ambiance is trendy and charming, with a unique decor inside a historic building, and it's not too loud. Vegetarian options include tofu, lentils, broccoli rapini, and various salads.
We absolutely loved this place! The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The food is fantastic as well! The fries with the homemade ketchup are simply amazing! The desserts were exceptional too. For those with dietary restrictions, there are plenty of gluten-free options, and the staff is very knowledgeable about them.
The decor is stylish and funky, creating an upscale yet relaxed vibe. It caters to a diverse crowd, from kids to senior adults. As for the food, I wish I could have ordered one of everything on the menu, but alas, that wasn’t possible! We started with the Pimento Cheese, which was fantastic, along with a meat board featuring two types of salami and a chicken liver pâté, plus some edamame drizzled with an umami sauce. Every starter was delicious. For the main courses, the Brussels Sprouts were heavenly, grilled to perfection and tossed in a sweet chili sauce. The Mushroom Skewer was surprisingly delightful—definitely the unexpected standout! The Bison Ravioli was bursting with flavor, creamy and earthy, with a touch of parmesan. The pork chop was meaty and expertly grilled, served with a rich, earthy sauce that had a hint of miso. My dad actually gnawed on the bone—it was that good! For dessert, we tried two options. The Crisp was a berry and cherry crumble that was very tasty, but the real star was the sticky toffee pudding—simply fantastic! It had rich, brown sugary flavors with delightful spices. As for drinks, I had the PK Margarita, and I ended up ordering another because it was so sweet and refreshing. As someone from the South who has enjoyed great food from around the world, I can confidently say this is a restaurant worth seeking out if you’re in Montana. They also have a limited kids’ menu, making it family-friendly.
This is a charming little place to grab lunch. The food was decent, and the fries were quite tasty. However, the service was disappointing and quite slow.
It seemed they were aware of how bad the food was since no one bothered to ask how our meal was. I wouldn’t spend another dime here or recommend it to anyone. They definitely got me this time.
