We stopped at Westlake Grill on the Hudson Ranch by Red Deer. What a jewel! Nice setting to start and amazing food. Fresh flavors, well seasoned food. I had the wild mushroom omelet. Portion size is large. I have enough breakfast tomorrow. Served with full-wheat toast and homemade saskatoon canned. YUM! And Yukon lubricated gold potatoes that were a reasonable potion and not half the plate. We're coming back. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Westlake Grill:
I had a the bison rib eye for 79$. Was only okay. Nothing amazing. Bison was cooked uneven (half was medium well-done and the other half was rare) and tasted like curry (not in good way). Potatoes are deep fried, the taste of old vegetable oil and overly salted wasn't a good experience. Carrots were borderline undercooked and the asparagus were bitter. I would say same quality as any casual dinning (earls, moxy) but... View all feedback.
What a jewel in Red Deer! Great food and cozy atmosphere. Service was also top notch. Very recommended. Even a few jams and coffee on the way out!

The place is amazing! We stumbled over this restaurant when we drove through Red Deer. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was great! It is also very expensive. It has a beautiful rustic and unique feeling. We will definitely come back!
I reserved six at the beginning and had to adjust the time and number of guests to nine after the original reservation. The restaurant was very accommodating to adjust our request. However, the seat was only available without outdoor heat lamps. It was somewhat unpleasant in terms of the cooler temperatures. The menu selection was limited as one third of our party only ordered the Bison ripenings to find out after the order was made that the kitchen had recommended our server they were not available. The wine list was limited when it came to order through the glass. One of the guests ordered the Sea Bass, who arrived in the middle unoccupied and after sending him back, she never received her replacement order until everyone had finished eating. Presentation was tasteful, but the value did not correspond to our expectations. One would expect a restaurant of this caliber to set its standards somewhat higher. I can't really recommend this facility.
The food was delicious and presented very well. My kids are picky but they loved the desserts. Great first impression and the service was excellent.
