We had the pleasure of visiting on their first Friday. The flatbread pizza was very good - try the macaroni and cheese pizza! Drinks we delicious and innovative. We look forward to going back. With a patio, this place would have everything! A wonderful addition to downtown. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tribe:
I stopped in for lunch today as I drove through Red Deer and found this spot. It is a great location in the old part of town, and they have a nice patio space. Apparently they have been open for about 5 months or so and it has a good feel. They specialize in Iranian flatbread. It is used of the appetizers and they make a great flatbread "pizza". I had the Open Road, and I really enjoyed it. The flatbread is excellent... View all feedback.

Apparently they have been open for about 5 months or so and it has a good feel. They specialize in Iranian flatbread. It is used of the appetizers and they make a great flatbread "pizza". I had the Open Road, and I really enjoyed it. The flatbread is excellent, great flavour, very light, very crisp. The toppings were excellent and it was not a pizza, it did not have a tomato sauce etc, bit the flavours were wonderful. The service was a bit slow, but I would certainly come back and try a few other things not the menu. I was alone and this is definitely a spot to come with friends and explore the menu a bit.
My husband and I recently had a late afternoon snack and glass of wine at Tribe. This was a return visit. Our first visit back in June was mediocre (poor service at that time), but good enough to warrant another one. As with our first visit, the service was slow to start. Once the ball got rolling though it was fine for the duration of our stay. The drinks were great with a nice variety for our tastes. The menu is a bit confusing, I could see where some people might not understand it at first but I'm sure the service staff would explain it if required. We shared a flat bread and it was delicious! It was nice sitting out in our down town core, supporting a local business rather than in a crowded, noisy, chain restaurant. I would definitely return to Tribe, it is going through growing pains like any new restaurant and the business in down town Red Deer is difficult to predict as far as staffing is concerned. I wish them all the best and hope they succeed. Red Deer needs more of these independents to keep it interesting.
As someone who seeks out independent businesses to support (rather than large chains) I was excited to check out Tribe. Their mission statement is interesting and attracted me ... what lacked was the backup for this. I don't think any of the serving staff had any idea what Tribe is supposedly about!! Food was interesting and well presented .. service was slow and although it wasn't busy we had to remind the staff that we had asked for another glass of wine . water .. so not very attentive. I would encourage whoever wrote the mission statement to dedicate some time on the floor so customers actually get what you're trying to do!!!!
I love patio restaurants and it was a decent day to try Tribe. The Bocconcini Caprese consisted of 6 slices of tomato with pearl bocconcini halved (!) on top with a drizzle of balsamic and basil. $12.85. That's it. The Bruschetta was a generous portion of tomatoes and grated parmesan on overly dry flatbread. $9. Their menu describes it as "noon"? not naan. It is impossible to eat with a fork and similarly awkward handheld as it crumbles once bitten. Menu is confusing too. Generally disappointing.
Nice patio. Flat bread pizza (which is one of there main dishes) was overcooked and hard. Waiter was intrusive but not available when we wanted something. Wine was served in tiny tumblers filled to the brim. Would not eat there again. Not good value.
