When I entered, the restaurant was quite small, but it has a very rustic feeling to it. A lady walked in with some fresh veggies from the market that morning. We weren't sure what to do since they had no hostess so we approched the counter. You order and pay at the counter then you sit either inside or on the outdoor patio where you can listen to local music on Wednesdays and Thursdays. We were there for lunch on a Wednesday and it was wonderful. I had "The Big Squeeze" which is a chicken quesadilla with apples. The apples I think should have been a little bit more cooked, but it was good anyways. I would recommend eating here and I plan on visiting again. The Velvet Olive is a bar located on top of this restaurant. I've always wondered where it was and so if you want to have a drink upstairs, you're always welcome to.

The food is excellent, very filling and well priced. The staff are always smiling and welcoming. This is THE place to choose if you are looking to eat somewhere downtown Red Deer.
