The restaurant offers good variety of South Indian cuisine at an affordable price. The food is tasty, especially the dosas and kothu dishes. Service can be slow due to short staffing, but the friendly staff compensates. Buffet options are available for a great value. The ambiance is pleasant and located conveniently near Reading Hindu Temple. Overall, a great spot for South Indian food lovers looking for a budget-friendly option. It's worth a visit for delicious dishes like Vada dipped in sambar and Chicken Kothu. Take your time to enjoy the authentic flavors and ambiance of this cozy restaurant.

Was Anonym at Vel Kitchen a mag?
Through a very long measure the best South Indian food we had outside India or Malaysia. A meal here is like an evening trip to the Indian districts of Kelang or Brickfields in Kuala Lumpur. The aromas are rich and authentic and the staff is hospitable and attentive. Excellent to all numbers. View all feedback.
What Anonym dislikes about Vel Kitchen:
Food was good only bad dish was the lamb chops which had good flavour, but for the price they were too thin and were very burnt. Also the service was not good, there was only 1 guy taking the orders, serving the food and cleaning tables. The starters took about 20-25 minutes to arrive, which is too long for the dishes ordered. At least two people are needed at the front- not just one. View all feedback.

Amazing Food and tastes vey much Indian ! Buffet spread was good and the restaurant was tidy as well. Recommended.
I can confidently say that this restaurant is a hidden gem in Reading. The staff is incredibly welcoming and always greets you with a smile. The atmosphere is fantastic, and the food is top-notch and consistently fresh. I'm a big fan of their breakfast buffet. I highly recommend it!
I visited this restaurant about two years ago, and today I returned for lunch with my parents. It's now under new management, and the food was fantastic—very close to authentic South Indian homemade cooking. The customer service was excellent, especially with a friendly conversation with Vignesh and Chef Dharma. The lovely lady who served the food was exceptionally friendly and caring. I would definitely recommend this restaurant this time around.
