The Hope Tap
Description
Nestled in a bustling area, this Wetherspoons pub offers a blend of good value and tasty food, although it shows signs of wear, suggesting a refresh could enhance the atmosphere. While the extensive beer selection is well-kept and staff service is generally friendly, inconsistent table cleanliness and maintenance issues, particularly in the restrooms, stand out. The menu features familiar pub classics, with quick service even during busy times. Despite occasional rude management experiences and varied meal quality, patrons appreciate the affordable prices and satisfying portions, especially the popular breakfasts, making it a go-to for casual dining before events.

The prices are good and there is no music playing. I once won a voucher on the radio for this restaurant and made many new friends quickly! The quality matches the price, but overall it is a decent place for a casual meal.
I was just now kicked out of that pub because I waved with a note of in the air as a joke in front of my friend, with no compromise, and no questioning. I have drunk one glass of Rosee wine, so you can guess what is my condition like. I am terribly upset as I was a say goodbye party saying my work colleague who was going to leave for a months African project, and I did not have a chance to explain him why I left, i just told him I am going to get a drink I will not see him for months, as I do not have his number etc ... soooooo upseeeet witth that pub!!!!!!!!
Spacious venue with a selection of good beers and affordable food. The atmosphere is quiet yet warm and inviting, making it a perfect spot for post-work meals and catching up with friends over conversation.
As ever excellent value. You sacrifice a little of the quality of other establishments for the simple cheapness of both food and drink. A pretty good selection of beers and ales including a local brewery.
This restaurant is slightly smaller than other Spoons locations, giving it a more traditional pub atmosphere. The outside space is small to medium in size. The staff were fine. I tried the 'afternoon special' of fish and chips with a pint for £7.33. The portion of fish was very small, but overall it was okay for the price. The pints of ale were very good, but it was disappointing to see that the majority of customers preferred to drink foreign branded lager.
