Travelling back from holiday and stopped off for an overnight stay with family. Ordered a take away for 4. Came really quickly. Had mixed starter's, Chow Mein, Special fried rice and loads of other dishes. Beware. Don't order to much as the portions were huge. View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Singapore Chinese Takeaway:
I give only three stars, but in a way that is not fair, it deserves more, but it is very a Chinese takeaway and delivers a good consistent product, but it is what you expect from a late night after the pub food facility, so in a way it offers an excellent service with delicious food, but there is nothing gourmet about it, so it is bad no! It is not quality, but it has and will always fill a belly with a lasting meal. View all feedback.
The restaurant offers very small portions at a high price, with dishes like chicken balls lacking in chicken and being dry and dense. The noodles are half-filled with an oily substance floating around, and the egg fried rice and meat dishes are also half-filled. The food is poor quality, lacking in flavor, and seems to be processed, frozen, or microwaved. Prawn crackers were missing from the order, despite a total bill of over £27. When calling to make a complaint, the staff had a dismissive attitude. Overall, it is best to avoid this restaurant due to the high prices and lackluster food quality.
The chicken balls at this restaurant were disappointing, resembling dense donut dough filled with frozen, overcooked chicken. They tasted overly sweet and lacked seasoning, even without the sauce. The sweet and sour sauce was also of poor quality, worse than what you can find in a cheap store. The wontons we ordered had no filling at all, just oily deep-fried dough. The prawn rolls were the most disappointing of all, as they tasted bad and lacked the promised crispiness. Some of them were even missing prawn, leaving only plain, unappetizing dough. The tofu dish was also poorly executed, with soggy and underseasoned tofu and a sauce that was overly syrupy. While the food did arrive on time, we would have preferred if it hadn't arrived at all. This was the worst 20 pounds we've ever spent on takeout.
Ordered first time after Recommended by Friend, and they have not disappointed. Delicious food, and prices are competitive then other regular Chinese. Now they are my number one Chinese take away in reading. Will Recommend
This place has a great menu choose your meat, choose how you want it cooked! So you can have beef/tofu/chicken in black pepper, or in orange sauce, basically anything you want. Excellent specials and the staff are friendly and realistic about time it will be ready. I have moved 15 miles away but still commute for their duck in lemon sauce :
We have started using this as our local takeaway and have never been disappointed. Food is always delivered really quickly and delivery drivers are polite and friendly. The good is great, good size portions and always hot with a lot of flavour. My favourite is the prawn toast, really crispy and great tasting...probably the best I have ever had. Would definitely recommend.
