Oakford Social Club - Reading

The bar staff at this restaurant have adopted a questionable practice of swirling the beer around to create an artificial head. This results in a loss of liquid and diminishes the overall quality of the beer. It appears that many establishments are doing this to save money, which is disappointing. I will not be returning to this pub for at least six months in the hopes that they have stopped this practice. It is worth noting that there is a 5% tolerance for a natural head in a pint, but customers should still receive a full pint of liquid upon request. Unfortunately, it is uncommon to find accurately lined pint glasses in pubs nowadays, with most glasses being filled to the brim.

The burgers are delicious, the drinks are great, the staff is friendly, and the chefs are talented. Leigh made me an amazing burger. I will definitely return the next time I am in Reading.

Excellent place for a pint with Mates and really good food. What impressed me the most was the really good service and kindness of the bartender Nina.

I had an amazing experience at the restaurant. The staff were all okay, but the standout was Chef Leigh. Chef Leigh is truly fantastic - you won't find better in the UK. I ordered the Big Cow, and Chef Leigh expertly prepared every element, from the bun to the sauce, lettuce, burger, onions, and brisket. She skillfully combined everything to create a work of art. Chef Leigh truly deserves recognition for her talent. I hope the restaurant gives her the raise she deserves. Slay, Chef Leigh!

Opposite Reading station. Relaxed atmosphere, good selection of fraught beer, good range of pub food, nicely cooked.
