I noticed that the rice had gone bad, and when I called to complain, the manager, Anwar, was rude. He admitted that the rice was spoiled and should have been thrown away. I have been a customer of Mr Cod for years, but after this experience, I will not be returning. The quality of the food and service was poor, and the manager's attitude made it even worse.

The fish was overcooked and rubbery, and the chips seemed to be leftovers from the day before. Even the battered sausage was tough and full of gristle. It seems like there may have been a change in ownership since our last visit to Reading. We will likely opt for a kebab from Oxford Road next time we're in town.

I contacted the restaurant after ordering... read more Avoid ordering from this restaurant at all costs! Some of the food was missing and what did arrive was cold and bland. I contacted the restaurant after ordering through Uber Eats and specifically requested salt and vinegar on both servings of chips, which they failed to provide. Despite calling to complain about my bad, incomplete, and cold order, the staff member I spoke to was rude and unhelpful. They suggested I place another order through Uber Eats at a discounted price and promised to include the missing items from my original order, but once again, the second order arrived without the missing items. When I called back to express my frustration, the man I spoke to was even more dismissive and unapologetic. This was an absolute disgrace! Don't waste your time, money, or calories on this place.
