Ate here with three mates at the start of the week and we went for the amazing value lunch menu, three courses cost £32 with canapés, bread, amuse bouche
We came here midweek and had the champagne lunch - 3 courses, appetizer and pre-dessert and a glass of champagne for £35 each.
I've been here several times over the years for special occasions; in a group for a friend's 30th, my 21st birthday and my grandmother's 80th among others.
The private champagne room has celebrated the 80th birthday of my father and was not disappointed. the greeting and the service of andras, the chief who looked around us was impeccable. we had the tasting menu and chose our own wein that holly delivered the nice steam member that took time to explain something about each dish. we had also been lucky that the chef cook took james time out of the very busy kitchen to say hi. brilliant evening and a great return to L’Ortolan
This place is unbelievable, it is one time in a living space, except they want to go open every day. from the moment they arrive, they are greeted by a beautiful environment, flowers and landscape. with an area for disabled parking and very good signs. about ten miles away. at this opportunity I visited with a 91-year-old lady who rarely comes out of her house and wow made the personal her feel special. they supported them on the three stages to the main restaurant and helped her walker. they were so kind. then the Italian wine expert was just incredible. he was the perfect gentleman and went out of his way beyond all conceivable possibilities to make her visit special and unforgettable. we also have the chance to meet the cook and wow was his food specialist. every bite was mouthwater. I really think it was the best meal I ever had. the drinks were also super advised, but the Italian weinmann and supplied by the happy girl behind the bar. each member of the team was exquisitely turned out, polite and charming. each and each of them. what a team. They made the visit special, magical and unique and did this for everyone. this restaurant should have more stars, other stars visited, this place should not even compare. many thanks to all staff in the service, from chef chef to junior team, they are so incredible. Thank you. a must to visit, an absolute must.
The restaurant received a mix of reviews, with some customers feeling disappointed by the tasting menu and service, finding the experience overpriced. However, many enjoyed the carefully conceived menu and diverse flavors offered, as well as the wine pairings by the hotel team. Some guests had a unique and wonderful experience, such as private dining for special occasions, delicious food, attentive service, and an overall memorable dining experience. The restaurant is known for its intriguing menu and high-quality execution, making it a recommended spot for those looking for a special and indulgent meal.

Not sure why you’re doing this, when L’Ortolan closed permanently the day after we were there!! Everything about our dining experience was very good., as it always has been. The only criticism is that the bar was a mess with far too many dirty glasses and empty bottles on it.
As the restaurant has now closed down, I wouldn’t decide to eat there!
As always a lovely meal , great service . Such a shame it is closing . We have been going on a semi regular basis for 10years , it is our go to for amazing food . Will really miss going there.
We had a wonderful meal at L'Ortalan with excellent service. It really is a restaurant which is in a different league for the cost. Our only, very small , criticism is that we were in the conservatory which is not as attractive decor wise as the main restaurant and was a little cool.
To celebrate our Son’s Birthday we went to L’Ortolan and experienced the 8 course tasting menu. Every piece of food we ate was absolutely delicious. The staff are all amazing and the setting is just lovely. Fabulous evening, thank you to everyone

Superb food and service. The standard wine flight with the tasting menu was £55 for 3 small amounts of reasonably good wine, which is very poor value.
