Staff were extremely friendly/ attentive and this was a really enjoyable and great experience. It is such a shame that L’Ortolan is closing at the end of August we are considering a return visit as well worth visiting before then

The food is absolutely delectable, the wine list incredible... read more Every time I go to l'Ortolan, I wonder if it will be as good as the previous times and it always is! The food is absolutely delectable, the wine list incredible, teh ambience perfect, the Sommelier knowledgeable and helpful and the staff courteous and attentive without being intrusive. Nothing is too much trouble. We particularly loved the heritage tomato and halibut courses in the tasting menu. I am so sorry that this jewel of the Berkshire countryside is closing after all this time.
