We had a lovely lunch at the restaurant but were quite upset when an `asian guy came and rudely asked the manager to use the toilet facilities .The manager politely told him that the facilities are for customers only.He threatened the lady that because he was not allowed to use the facilities the latter will report to the council that he saw a rat in the restaurant. We found this disgusting that someone will get that... What Gareth C doesn't like about Cafe Madras London:
25 mile journey to a closed restaurant. Neighboring business says that they have a new owner who is about to re open. He cannot even be bothered to leave a note on the window or even remove the old menu from the previous owners. The website is still active and indicates that they are open. I certainly won't bother to go there again, as they evidently cannot be bothered about inconveniencing customers. Message to new owner Get off your seat and do something about your website and shop window if you really want the business to take off.
It was amazing. I felt like I was back in my hometown, Chennai. Definitely recommend for a second visit.
I went there because of the Tarob V review but regret immediately... poor food, poor hygiene, rude staff, poor atmosphere, not worth the money, waste of time.... Tarob V, are we talking about the same place ????

Visited last week. Has a closed for renovation sign in the window, which looks very faded. Furniture and bills piled up inside. Doesn 't look likely to reopen any time soon.
Stale food. No Authenticity. A supermarket take-way taste far better than madras cafe's food. Unfriendly staff. I ordered pepper chicken, I can hardly taste pepper in it. Biriyani is just boiled chicken pieces with over cooked rice and no flavour whatsoever. You will be better off buying Indian food from Tesco nearby. They only accept cash and long wait even when hardly few people there.
