Description

Nestled along the highway, this restaurant offers a blend of charm and challenges. While some diners rave about the flavorful shrimp fajitas and tender T-bone steaks, others lamenting over tough pork and bland dishes point to inconsistencies in the kitchen. Service appears similarly hit-or-miss, with reports of friendly staff overshadowed by long wait times and occasional mix-ups. Prices seem steep for some, especially given the variable portion sizes and cooking quality. Despite these drawbacks, the restaurant maintains a clean, inviting atmosphere with historical decor, making it a viable stop for weary travelers.

They should not be able to call this stuff steak. My sirloin that I I ordered medium was cooked to a crisp black. Reminded me of over cooked liver. Baked potato wasn't hot and very hard. Texas toast was burned. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $20–30 Food: 1 Service: 3 Atmosphere: 1 Recommended dishes: Baked Potato

Overall, I rated the food a perfect 5, as well as the service and atmosphere. If you're wondering what to order, I highly recommend the Salad Bar, Chicken-Fried Steak, and Catfish—they were all outstanding! There's plenty of parking available, including a free parking lot, which is a definite plus.

I've been a fan of K Bob's for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately, the Raton location is one of the few still open. The food remains enjoyable, offering a solid selection of classic American dishes, but they've reduced the number of side options, discontinued the beloved Salad Wagon, and no longer provide complimentary rolls or cornbread. Perhaps this is a local decision. Personally, I appreciate the atmosphere—it has that classic 80s American steakhouse feel. If you’re seeking a modern design, creative dishes, or top-notch service, this may not be the place for you.

I visited Kbobs for the first time, and my experience was average. Luckily, it was BOGO night, which was a nice bonus. I would rate the food a 2, the service a 5, and the atmosphere a 2.
