The Silver Lining Creamery - Rapid City

The best ice cream in Rapid. Great location downtown with outdoor seating, music and an area for the kids to play.

The Silver Lining Creamery is awesome! They have so many flavor options on rotation, so every visit has something new to try. They have samplers where you can get 4 or 6 mini scoops of whichever flavors you want to try if you can't decide. I love getting my ice cream in a chocolate dipped sprinkle waffle cone. They also have a freezer where you can get various sizes of ice cream already made up to bring home. We just bought a pint of Lavender honey ice cream and it is so good! My absolute favorite thing they had was the carrot cake milkshake. It was a milkshake with a whole piece of carrot cake in it. It was a limited time/seasonal thing, so they don't have it now, but hopefully it comes back!The atmosphere of the place is also great. It is so fun to grab a treat in the summer and then walk around downtown. You can also sit outside and watch the fountains/ice rink.You can't go wrong at The Silver Lining Creamery!

Ice cream is good, but the customer service often leaves a bad taste in my mouth. I went in today to pick up a couple of pints, and the young man who rung me up didn't say a single word to me the entire transaction, no thank you, have a nice day, nothing... just turned around and went back to lounging by the other counter after the transaction was over. Definitely makes the whole experience a bummer, don't think I'll be returning.

We stumbled onto this place in downtown Rapid City. Ice cream made on site. Very dense and creamy ice cream. Very flavorful. Large portions. Pricing not at all unreasonable (esp compared to the $5-$6 single scoops we've seen out east). Highly recommended. Come with a good appetite.

It's one of my favorite ice cream shops in Rapid City. They got new owners not too long ago, but the ice cream still taste delicious, and the waffle cones I think are better.
